AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Calling the act of barring Pakistani diplomat, Sartaz Aziz from paying obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Amritsar, as a “deliberated attempt to create a wedge between Sikhs and Pakistan”, said the Dal Khalsa.
In a press note shared with Sikh24, President of Dal Khalsa S. Harpal Singh Cheema has said that the Indian authorities have tried to denigrate the traditions of the central Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib by barring Sartaz Aziz under the pretext of security.
The Pakistani diplomat Sartaz Aziz was in Amritsar on December 3 & 4 to take part in the ‘Heart of Asia Conference’. He had arrived a day earlier than his pre-planned schedule to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib.
Accusing the Indian government of striking multiple targets with single arrow, S. Cheema said that by using the ground of the Sikhs (Amritsar) and the shoulder of Afghanistan, the Indian government tried to spread hatred against its rival country Pakistan.
S. Cheema quoted the ‘Resolution of Anandpur Sahib’ in which it was written that it was not necessary for Sikhs to treat India’s ally (Russia) as a friend and India’s enemy (Pakistan) as an enemy.

Har Mandar Sahib is open to all and who are the Indian Government to stop anyone attending ? Should they not ban the Hindus that criticise all the time about Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindrawale and the state openly that the Blue Star Operation was the right thing to do. There it is the SGPC is controlled by the Indian Government – they have not got the bottle to stand up!

So much for the freedom for Sikhs. I think the SGPC has lost its soul and they have become slaves of the RSS and other hindutva organisations and are just preparing to carry out the final rites of our religion. They allowed Modi a man responsible for murders of innocent muslims in Gujrat to go into the Harmandir Sahib and serve langar. While not allowing a Muslim visitor with a pure heart to go to the Gurudwara. If Mr. Sartaz Aziz was such a dangerous person then why the Indian Govt gave him the visa to come to Amritsar in the first place. This is another way to rub the noses of the sikhs to ground and make sure they can’t get up .Is there anything sikhs can do in that country without the Govt meddling into their affairs.
