TALWANDI SABO, Punjab—As per reports available from reliable sources, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) led Punjab government has beefed up deployment of paramilitary forces at Talwandi Sabo. The move has come after the ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2016’ organizers have again announced to hold Sarbat Khalsa at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib on December 8.

It is pertinent to note here that the union government had earlier sent three companies of Paramilitary forces to prevent the ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2016’ event that was scheduled for November 10, 2016.

Although, one of three companies was sent back, the remaining two were still present in Talwandi Sabo. With the announcement of the Sarbat Khalsa for December 8, the stay of paramilitary forces in Talwandi Sabo has been extended.

The CRPF (Civil Range Police Force) personnel could be seen at the major localities of towns like Nishan-e-Khalsa cross roads. However, the CRPF officers have described the presence as a regular deployment but the alert levels among the ranks of the intelligence wing and Punjab police tells a different story.

Meanwhile, the organizers of ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2016’ have said that they won’t seek permission this time from the Administration to hold the event at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, in Talwandi Sabo.

  1. We don’t live in history, our deeds, our sacrifices for our own & others religion, our love for Guru & Vaheguru makes history, some people write epics & then tell public this actually happened & try to make mythology their history. Guru Sahib showed the path of equality & God to all for more than 200 years but there are people who still live with soch of classification & injustice. If all the Indians followed or even shown respect to the Guru’s path this would have been their history also, but they always opposed & living with inferiority complex & attacking sikhs & their religion which is the religion of humanity.

  2. HARINDER IS PAID RSS INTERNET TROLLER> PLEASE IGNORE HIS ASININE COMMENTS. PLEASE JUST PROVIDE THE TRUTH AND IT SHALL PREVAIL>

  3. Badal led police and he himself puppet of the RSS has one way thinking to destroy sikhi – Badal – As for peace in Punjab who is creating peace and who is creating violence we all know this can see it but will not admit it. BADAL and his PUPPETS you can do all to destroy us but do not forget SIKH COMMUNITY IS ALL OVER THE WORLD and a day is going to come when like Aurangzeb no one will PISS on your GRAVE and as for SIKHS THEY WILL ALWAYS SHINE.

  4. I don’t understand this person who never speaks like a gentleman, there is saying in Panjab ” Murda bole kaffan farhe” What is this, genocide-4, making India Syria? You don’t want peace in India? Is this a free India for which we gave so many sacrifices. If the Guru da Khalsa had not made a wall of Khalsa Fauj from Panjab to Afghanistan, India would have been a Muslim country. Badal is just a puppet in hands of center. Problem is with the Brahmanical soch, they don’t want to see any religion in India which teaches equality & justice, their base is jaat paat & injustice Sikhs should just concentrate on being a Gursikh, Guru will guide your path.

    • You need. to understand the world in a holistic manner.
Afghanistan is no more a problem for India or we Sikhs.
Pakistan does keep creating the Border tension now.
No point always living in history .
We need have a better understanding of our today’s world
      The fate of our
      1) Planet earth.
      2) Our Sun
      3) Galaxies
      4) Parallel universe.
      5) Science and technology.

This planet earth is no more worthy of being inhabited on.
We need to morph our selves into SPACE FARING people going to different planets, galaxies and Universes.

      • The Sikhs slammed the door shut in the face of the Afghans and now because the Sikhs have neutered their centuries of threat you say we don’t need to both with Sikh history lest we thank the Sikhs. I think you and your your Hinduvta taliban should become a space faring people. Please go very far away from the Earth as humanity is not something you have any interest in. We Sikhs will stay in our heartland and homeland of Punjab that we shed so much of our blood, sweat and tears upon.

  5. The state police should stay a step ahead of all forces both internal or external which are trying to disturb peaceful Punjab and bring chaos and violence to it.

    • When you talk of chaos and violence disturbing peace of PUnjab have you forgotten repeated incidents of beadbi and that the State police themselves murdered two Sikhs in cold blood and in broad daylight for peacefully and democratically protesting beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib. Punjab police cannot be trusted to do their duty any more than your friends the Badals.

      • You don’t understand all forces which operate in Punjab.
There is an attempt being made to turn Punjab into a violent and chaos mode.
We will turn into Syria and Iraq if we don’t understand world order and Empires.

        3) The Sarbatt Khalsa
        4) Punjab and Haryana SYL disputes

are all attempt to set Punjab on fire .

An religious gathering will lead us into uncharted territory full of dangerous consequences.

      • The only force which will protect Punjab and its people is the Punjab Police and Indian Army.
Rest all are non democratic forces .

      • The clue is in your wording ‘force’. In a civilised democratic country the State doesn’t need to use force against its own citizens. It only does so to repress their civil liberties and human rights. But then you are an advocate for a fascist ideology with your undying support for the likes of the RSS and Hinduvta taliban and have on numerous occasions advocated for and indeed defended arbitrary arrest, fake encounters, rape, torture, kidnapping, extra judicial killing and genocide against the Sikhs. These are not constitutional let alone the proportional, responsible behaviour of a civilised democratic country against its own people. The Internal Court in the Hague convicts those who believe so as being war criminals and those who engage in crimes against humanity. You have no understanding of civilised democratic values let alone regard for them.

      • ‘The only force which will protect Punjab and its people is the Punjab Police and Indian Army.’ Are you talking about the Punjab Police which murdered in cold blood and broad daylight two Sikhs in Behban for peacefully protesting (as is their democratic and religious right) against repeated beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib. How exactly were those officers ‘protecting’ the people of Punjab when they shot them dead? Perhaps we should ask Gurmeet Pinky as he as a police officer has plenty to say about extra judicial killings of Punjabi Sikhs by Punjab police over decades. No, wait we can;t ask him how he ‘protected’ the Punjabis because the Court doesn’t want to hear his whistle-blowing confessions.

      • ‘No any activity which disturbs the peace and harmony in a state or Nation needs to be kept under check.’ Police murder with impugnity civilians protesting beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib in broad daylight and you talk of peace and harmony? Your twisted logic means ‘to save the people one must kill the people’? As for pillars of democracy (which let’s be honest you don’t believe in as you reject the foundations of civil democratic society such as freedom of association, freedom of thought and religious practice, freedom to dissent, freedom to gather, etc) I would remind you that NDTV has been taken off the air for one day as punishment by the Government for not behaving in a way that the Government likes. That same channel and press in India still refer to ‘Delhi Riots’ instead of Sikh genocide or anti Sikh pogroms and call any Sikh who dissents a ‘radical’, ‘hardliner’, ‘conservative’, ‘orthodox’, ‘militant’ so are heavily biased in their ‘news’ reporting of Sikh stories. The Judiciary has systematically failed the Sikhs since 1984 – how many thousands of Sikhs are still waiting for any semblance of justice after numerous committees and inquiries? The judiciary does not want to the confessions of extra judical murders carried out by the PUnjab police from police informers like Gurmeet Pinky and when a decent judge like Justice Katju finds Punjab police and indeed polity culpable of murdering Sikhs his report is dismissed and whitewashed with another to undermine his damning findings. As for Government I would remind you again the Government used / abused all its state power and apparatus to both proxy murder Sikhs in 1978 and then openly in 1984 with two PMs of this country carrying a bloodthirsty vendetta against the Sikhs. The Sarbat Khalsa is the Sikh religious right to determine their own religious affairs and is part of the Miri Piri principle and tradition symbolised in the construction of the Akal Takht facing Harminder Sahib.

      • Again you talk of Syria and Iraq. Those are Muslim countries. We are Sikhs here in our own homeland and heartland of Punjab. I could understand why you are trying to conjure up spectres if you were talking about the Hinduvta taliban with their desire to enforce a hegemony like their radical counterparts in the middle east. As for Sarbat Khalsa, that is none of your concern, it is the religious right of Sikhs to gather and discuss their own religious affairs as well as their democratic civil liberty to do so. You only oppose it becase you know full well the Sikh masses reject your puppets the Badals and like the Russians you wish to prop up your ‘man’ Bashar Assad who barrel bombs his own people killing them even in schools and hospitals – oh, I see now why you bring up Syria. As for the Punjab and Haryana SYL that is not a ‘dispute’. The water belongs to Punjab and is our most precious resource – you don’t go into somebody’s else house and take things without permission, that is called theft. Punjabis do not give their consent to destroy their homeland – if you think they do give them a referendum.

      • No any activity which disturbs the peace and harmony in a state or Nation needs to be kept under check.

All difficulties we Sikhs face can be aired in 3 pillars of democracy.

        1) Press
        2) Judiciary
        3) Government

Sarbatt Khalsa men need to discuss the issues with them.

  6. Be care full of all Religions..
They can convert Punjab into another Syria or Iraq.
Any problem facing the Sikhs needs to be expressed in election 2017 and through the process of law and state.
No one should be allowed to take Punjab back to Indira- Bhinderwala Punjab of 1980-1990.
We will be headiing into the direction of another blue star or may be even a genocide-4.

    • Sikhs are perfectly law abiding and wish only to exercise both their civic democratic right to gather publicly and their religious right to freedom of religion guaranteed to them under the constitution A Sarbat Khalsa is the right of every SIkh to discuss their own religious affairs for hundreds of years. Peaceful protest is also a vital part of a working democracy as is the education of the masses so that they know what it is they are voting for – it seems to me you are interested in throttling both and claiming to do so legitimately under the veil of elections which are often corrupt (how many votes are simply bought by politicians who are keeping an electorate both in the dark and focused on subsistence living and communalism?) The Sikhs are being denied both their civil liberties and religious rights so how can you then talk of the process of law and state? Democracy should be free and fair for all voters so that the will of the people can prevail rather than the vested interests of those in power who naturally just want the continuation of their privilege. I would also remind you that 1.9 crore fake votes in Punjab were detected in December 2015 over just an 8 month period by the Election Commission. On 29th December 2015 they reported over seven lakh “ghost” voters of the total 1.9 crore voters have been detected in Punjab in the past eight months. It was for the first time in the electoral history of Punjab that such a large number of fake voters had surfaced in a brief period of eight months — March till October-end. The Election Commission was forced to go in for mass deletion of such votes. In the past, the Election Commission used to delete around 1.5 lakh votes in a year mainly on account of death or migration of voters to other states.

    • Oh you brainwashed Bafoon, Sikhs have always been under attack by Indian government. They have the right to peacefully protest but then why do they always get arrested by police or get the army called on them….there are videos online of peqceful Sikhs being attacked by police.

      • Punjab is a multi religious state.
For all problems we have we can go to our
        1) Political leaders
        2) District administration
        3) Judiciary
        4) Govt of India
        5) Govt of Punjab

All of this can be done by modern technologies like on line.
Religion are violent systems and should be carefully handled .

      • Punjab is a multi religious state with the overwhelming majority religion being Sikhism which is further reinforced by Sikhi’s pre-eminent historical and cultural connection with Punjab not limited to actually freeing the land from invaders and actually preserving / revering the language of the land abandoned by certain others. ‘Religion are violent systems and should be carefully handled’? Wow. These two statements of yours reveal perfectly your antipathy towards Sikhism and desire to have it emasculated form its own homeland and heartland. As for Punjab’s problems the polity, judiciary and police are the ones who have caused the majority of abuses, injustices and troubles in the first place! Your desire to have any dissent pushed onto online technology completely ignores the formidable problem of hacking where the state can control the information and reporting of opposition and of course completely undermines democratic rights and values such as the freedom to assembly, freedom of association and freedom to practice one’s religion. You really need to read your history properly when you talk of constitution. As reported in Young India, 19th March 1931, Mahatma Gandhi addressed the Sikhs in Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib Delhi and said “I ask you to accept my word and the resolution of the Congress that it will not betray a single individual Sikh much less the Sikh community. If it ever thought of doing so, it would only hasten its own doom… I pray you to unbossom yourself of all doubt and apprehensions. Let God be witness to the bond that binds me and the Congress to you. I venture to suggest that the non-violence creed of the Congress is the surest guarantee of good faith and our Sikh friends have no reason to fear that it would betray them. For the moment it did so the Congress would not only thereby seals its own doom but that of the country also. Moreover the Sikhs are a brave people. They know how to safeguard their rights by the exercise of arms, if it ever come to that”. That same Gurdwara was attacked by Congress led mobs in 1984. At a press conference in 1946 as reported in the Statemans newspaper July 7th 1946, Nehru said “the brave SIkhs of Punjab are entitled to special consideration, I see nothing wrong in an area set up in the north wherein the SIkhs can also experience the glow of freedom”. Then in 9th December 1946 he presented a resolution in the session of constituent assembly “Adequate safeguards would be provided for minorities in India. It was a declaration, a pledge, and an undertaking before the world’ a contract with millions of Indians and therefore in the nature of a oath which we must keep”. He then passed a resolution in the Congress committee on 5th January 1947 “The rights of the Sikhs in Punjab should not be jeopardized”. In July 1947 they passed resolution “In the divided Indian PUnjab special constitutional measures are imperative to meet the just aspirations and rights of the Sikhs”. Now talk of Sikhs breaking the Constitution when bad faith has been given to them after 1947 despite these assurances. We are the most loyal people of India because we keep our word. And before you reply as you always do that Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi are gone and their promises died with them let me say again that does not mean the solemn pledge they made to the Sikhs to induce Sikhs to join India died with them otherwise you are saying that Sikhs do not need therefore to honour their part of the contract either. Sikhs keep their word and we expect our country to do the same.

      • Nehru and Mahatama Gandhi are gone.

.In India no one remembers who and what was promised least of all the past PM.

These things require treaties or constitution safe guards.

What is needed is a fresh thinking among Sikhs that where do we go from here.

What course the community should adopt for its future .

It needs to be charted fresh with short and long term goals.

      • ‘Nehru and Mahatama Gandhi are gone. In India no one remembers who and what was promised least of all the past PM.’ How can you then talk of democracy when you are advocating a post truth society where any lie can be given by political party in order simply to grab votes with manifesto pledges which will not be honoured. Why talk of treaties and constitutional safeguards when you are following the thoughts of the Nazi SS chief Heinrich Himmler who commented famously ‘who compels us to keep the promises we make?’ You have no interest in democracy because you find democratic values a nuisance (civil liberties, human rights etc) but you hide your fascist inclinations. The Sikhs have been given a strict moral code and religious instruction to oppose tyranny and injustice – that is both the short and long term goal any decent community should be resolved to.

  7. this is what EVIL INDIA DOES WHEN SIKHS GATHER FOR JUSTICE, WHEN THEY GATHER FOR THEIR RIGHTS AND WHEN THEY WANT TO REVOLUTIONIZE, BADAL YOU DISGUSTING OLD PIG, WE ALL KNOW YOU’RE A VERY EVIL MAN AND IN SIKH HISTORY I AND MANY OTHERS WILL MAKE SURE YOU GET THE DESCRIPTION YOU DESERVE, YOU’RE AN EVIL TYRANT, IF SANT JARNAIL SINGH BHINDRANWALE WAS ALIVE TODAY YOU WILL BE SHITTING IN YOUR PANTS YOU DISGUSTING CORRUPT VILE MONSTROUS GOBLIN CREATURE
