UK Govt Faces Opposition for Withdrawing Files Regarding 1984 Involvement

LONDON, UK—The UK government is facing opposition for withdrawing files related to its involvement in assisting the 1984 invasion of Sri Darbar Sahib by the Indian Army.

In 2014, revelations that UK may have assisted the Indian Army in its deadly 1984 invasion of Sri Darbar Sahib put a strain on British government’s relations with the Sikhs.  The invasion left hundreds dead in June 1984, spurring the assassination of Indira Gandhi, India’s prime minister at the time, by her two Sikh bodyguards four months later. The assassination in turn triggered a cycle of inter-communal violence that resulted in thousands of Sikh deaths in India.

Just a day before her critical trade visit to India, Theresa May is being questioned to release the documents related to British involvement in the 1984 attack.  Fresh evidence reveals that the Foreign Office removed dozens of files relating to the SAS assistance to India in 1984.

The Sikh Federation (UK), is seeking a public inquiry into the matter.  “Lawyers have now written to Home Secretary Amber Rudd demanding an independent investigation into Britain’s role in one of the darkest periods in Sikh history, after new evidence was found at the UK National Archives,” Sikh Federation (UK) told Sikh24.

Official documents released in 1984 suggested that former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher sent a British special forces officer to help the Indians as they drew up plans to remove dissident Sikhs from the Golden Temple in early June 1984.  Prime Minister David Cameron at that time asked Cabinet Secretary Sir Jeremy Heywood to investigate the case, but tried to play down Britain’s involvement during parliamentary questions.

“This shows that Parliament was deliberately misled by then Foreign Secretary William Hague in 2014 when he hid the fact that more SAS military assistance for India was considered weeks after the Sikh [massacres] in June 1984.  The Heywood Review was inadequate and the content and conclusions presented to Parliament were inaccurate,” Bhai Amrik Singh of Sikh Federation (UK) said.

Darragh Mackin, Solicitor at KRW LAW LLP said, “The discovery of this fresh evidence yet again casts the spotlight on the British Government for their role in the atrocities committed against the Sikh community in Amritsar in June 1984.  This recent discovery further undermines the effectiveness of the original Heywood review, and it is against this backdrop that we have asked immediate action is taken to ensure that an effective and independent investigation is commissioned without further delay.”

On behalf of the Sikh Federation (UK), KRW LAW has corresponded directly with the Home Secretary and the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to seek an independent investigation in the case.

  1. Be wary of hyper religious and hyper nationalistic people – you condemn the BJP, Shiv Sena, Hinduvta nexus and their RSS militia then? You will lose your job as their agent if you do.

  2. We also need to analyze this Genocide-3 in depth so that we can adopt measures to prevent a genocide-4.
One thing which emerges from this is that we need to be wary of hyper Religious and hyper Nationalistic people.
as both are capable of lot of violence.

  3. I have not said forget it.
I have said we need Justice and Resurrection to overcome the trauma of 1984.
What we need to understand is that this is the 3 rd Genocide we have under gone.
Life cannot stop at 1984 and must move on into future.
How ever each year till eternity in we must seek justice for the victims of 1984 genocide in Supreme court .

    • “I’m sorry” is a statement. “I won’t do it again” is a promise. “How do I make it up to you” is a responsibility. That is how you give Sikhs justice.

  4. RSS Harinder we have heard this again and again forget 1984 – would you forget if your family was killed with burning tyres around their necks sisters and mother raped by gangs and children slaughtered ? How can it be so easy for you to even think that this is going to go away. You need to ask those families who has seen this with their own eyes and have to live with this. Be reminded that 1984 will not be forgotten – Indian state will pay for this that is a promise. How can one say forget crimes against humanity – if so, they are not human themselves.

  5. We need to get over our 3 rd 1984 genocide as soon as possible .

We then need to start our SPACE VOYAGES as soon as possible to distant planets and galaxies .

This planet Earth fate is doomed as it is going to burn up in 4 billion years from now.

    • ‘Need to get over our 3rd genocide’. First of all you are not a Sikh and you have shown repeatedly that you do not have the necessary compassion for fellow Indian citizens who are being abused or murdered in the name of the State so stop using words like ‘our’ when you clearly make a distinction between human beings based on religion and indeed within religion with your caste insistence that Dalits should know their place. Secondly you don’t ‘get over’ genocide by sweeping it under the carpet but ensuring victims receive justice so that genocide cannot be repeated. As Goethe said ‘a good man apologises for the mistakes of the past, a great man corrects them’. That is even more true for a country. Instead you are a genocide apologist (when you are not denying it ever happened with your excuses that the perpetrators crimes are all blamable on foreign existential empires) and even seek to blame the victims and justify collective punishment. These were your fellow countrymen and human beings who were murdered on the streets of their own country – you should be outraged and determined to seek redress for them and their families because not doing so allows others to repeat those human rights violations and crimes against humanity.

  6. Any person not listening or obeying the Empire will become unperson( vaporized )
Any group speaking against the Empire will undergo a controlled genocide.
Any Nation opposing the Empire will cease to exist or undergo a regime change.

You need to read Orwell’s book 1984 to understand a dystopian state.
India in 1984 was a Orwellian state as Sikhs had rebelled against the Empire which had established India..
You can’t wish away Empire .

    • Indira and Bhinderwala were both controlled by Empire who converted Punjab into a Orwellian Punjab.
1984 events in Punjab was the manifest destiny of of the Orwellian book 1984.

      • You are looking at the wrong causality, Bhindranwale died in 1984 but the injustices against Sikhs started decades before that when promises and assurances given to Sikhs to join India (and reject the setting up of their own Sikh state) by Nehru and the Congress Party were reneged upon. The sharing of state capital (Chandigarh) between two states, the redistribution of river water(the Punjab means 5 rivers and water is essential to Punjab’s history and agricultural base), the denial of a Sikh marriage act recognising the Anand Karaj (which effectively meant that Sikhs were being counted as Hindus), the rejection of Punjabi as the language of Punjab, the cleaving off of Punjab’s land to form another state territory with Haryana, etc – the grievances are well documented in the Anandpur Sahib Resolutions formulated in the sixties and seventies. The truth of what I am telling about communal causality is further demonstrated in the 1992 Bombay and 2002 anti Muslim ‘riots’ – these events would not have occurred had the apparent acceptibility of collective punishment of a religious minority been set in precedent with the anti Sikh pogroms of 1984. That communal intolerance to religious minorities is how India and Pakistan were born and it is an underlying problem that Hindus (as they form a majority in the Indian subcontinent and it is always incumbent on the ruling people whether they be white South African or Hindu Indian) have to be big enough to recognise and be magnanimous enough to resolve for the sake of the greater good. The integrity (not to mention honour and morality) of the Nation would be guaranteed by this carrot approach rather than the stick which always fails in the end and only leads to bloodshed and suffering of innocents.
The Nirankaris are a heretical sect which were first supported by the British in their divide and rule policy to try and neuter the Sikhs pre-independence. Indira Gandhi resurrected this policy for exactly the same nefarious reason during the 1970s as her Congress Party could not overhaul the Sikh political party at that time the Akali Dal through the ballot box. The Sikhs had been peacefully demanding their rights from Independence in 1947 as it became clearer that Nehru having wooed / bamboozled Master Tara Singh and SIkh leadership into siding with India (instead of Pakistan or re-establishing their own sovereign Sikh state such as the Khalsa Raj of Maharajah Ranjit Singh which encompassed territory from Kashmir, Punjab (north of the Sutlej) and lands up to the Khyber) had no intention of honouring promises made. This lack of faith from Nehru led to the Anandpur Sahib Resolutions to address Sikh grievances over two decades before Bhindranwale even came on the scene although you are correct to note that the murders of innocent SIkhs by the state sponsored and protected Nirankaris led to Sikh backlash. You are incorrect however to continually raise spectre of Empire’s armies – the British Empire was and is dead and had no involvement whatsover in oppressing Sikhs in Punjab during the 1970s, 1980s or 1990s. As for the American EMpire, the worst you can say is that they remained quite when they knew the extent of human righst violations by both Indira and Rajiv Gandhi’s Congress Governments (as revealed in Snowden’s leaks of US Embassy cables during those times). The fact that the State and PUnjab Government made Punjab into a police state is not excusable by saying that the human rights and civil rights abuses that then then subsequently ensued against the SIkhs was inevitable (as whenever governments create police states such abuses occur) as those politicians, those police officers, those army personnel, those judges et al were all fellow Indian citizens and should have treated Sikhs as their brothers. The sadistic and illegal treatment the SIkhs were subjected to (the legacy of which continues to this very day) is not excusable and those who engaged in it should be brought to book not because of the Geneva conventions (which apply to war combatants) but because of human rights violations and crimes against humanity.

    • I don;t think you have read Orwell’s ‘1984’ novel let alone understood it apart from the blurb on the back which connects the year ‘1984’ to the keywords ‘totalitarian dystopia’. Although I can see why Orwell’s ‘1984’ might appeal to you with that famous line ‘If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face – forever’ being very resonant for your message to the Sikhs in Punjab when it comes to being ruled by the Badal / Hinduvta nexus. You want a totalitarian state which has absolute control over every action and thought of its people through propaganda, secrecy, constant surveillance, and harsh punishment but like Winston Smith I say ‘Down with Big Brother!’ The police state mentality in Punjab remains to this day as does doublethink and newspeak. I don’t think you would raise Orwell’s 1984 novel for discussion if you actually read it as it is a scathing critique of the doublespeak kind of governance you actually champion for the Punjab. I’d suggest you stick with Orwell’s other masterpiece ‘Animal Farm’ as although it is an even more pertinent, denunciating and will vividly destroy your cheerleading for unthinking support for authority figures (out of fear of violent retribution from them) it will give you a much better understanding of politics and how Badal started off and what he eventually became i.e. An initially well meaning swine who became a dictatorial pig rearing vicious attack dogs as his own private police (Punjab police) to exploit and control his brethren and then finally collaborating with the master farmer (Hinduvta) to sell them (all the SIkhs that had believed and trusted in him to do good for the Punjab) for dog food to make himself rich. Sikhs are not afraid of any Empire having already overseen the demise of the Mughal and British despite the terrible sacrifices made to free themselves and their fellow man so little point in you telling us to be donkeys rather than lions.

  7. Indian state is a product of British Empire controlled through the constitution of India and a Empire friendly regime.
There are men of Empire in several vassal Nation who will do any thing to there own fellow citizens because the Empire desires so.
1984 was to subdue Indias Nationalism by the Empire through a controlled limited genocide.executed against Sikhs by the Empire friendly regime

    • Nothing to do with existential foreign empires with lizard aliens hiding in human skins but Indians behaving bestially and without conscience or humanity. RSS men do not enjoy freedom of speech because they have willingly sold their souls like their Nazi SS counterparts to an ideology which promotes the perverted virtue of racial superiority and total obedience to a hate spouting charismatic Head of State. Whilst you are inclined to blame foreign existential Empires for all of India’s crimes you should note that the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre did lead to Dyer’s disgrace and the pricking of British Imperial conscience and to Mahatma Gandhi concluding that Britain had from that moment on lost the moral right to govern in India. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Sikhs prominently fought against draconian British Empire laws (Rowlat Act etc) and agitated for justice with the Anandpur Sahib Resolution so in essence you are saying their fellow Indians are too stupid to think for themselves and slavishly adopt immoral ways of thinking? You are making an argument ironically as a RSS Hinduvta supporter then that Indians need to be governed by others as they cannot instinctively distinguish between right and wrong and the Sikhs should govern themselves because their innate ethos is to oppose tyrannical thinking.

Always respect the Empire as it is an evolutionary divine force .

    • Bizarre ramblings of someone who has not an inkling of world history or morality and refuses to accept that Indians have committed abuses and atrocities against Sikhs except as mere helpless pawns directed by existential foreign Empires and refuses to accept Indians have formulated draconian and illegal laws of their own (TADA et al) to repress their own population. This means he gives a clean chit to any Indian who commits abuses and atrocities against Sikhs particularly if they were in uniform such Gurmeet Pinky.
You continue to blame any Indian atrocities and abuses both legally and extra judicially on ghost laws inherited from colonial times to divert and distract culpability. I say again a drunkard cannot reform himself until he is prepared to accept and admit that he is an alcoholic and if he continues to blame the barman for selling him drink rather than hold himself responsible for his own actions he will never stop being a drunkard. You are disingenuously insulting Indians by suggesting that after more than sixty years of Independence and several generations being born and living without Colonial rule they are still like children unable to think for themselves and know the difference between right and wrong.
The only Empire that controls you are not the dead Empires of yesteryear (Roman, Byzantine, British et al that you continually evoke to try and take the blame for Indian injustices) but the slave mentality you still labour under. It may be enough for you to cower and cringe as your forebears did before you but the Singhs were transformed from sparrows into hawks in 1699 so we cannot go back to scrabbling around gratefully in the dirt eeking out a miserable subsistence on bugs and worms. Don’t worry though we will dutifully stand up for you even though you don’t have the necessary backbone to do so yourself. You just keep on with your little parades and speeches in your khaki short pants – you and the hopelessly deluded RSS can be the entertainment division.

      • The Indian state is a vassal state of the Empire controlled by the Empire through its constitution and a client security apparatus.

      • Again RSS Harinder is blaming anyone who is not Indian for these sacrilegous crimes despite the FACT that some of the criminals have been caught red handed (and are Indian) and that those who have protested peacefully have been shot dead by Indian Punjabi police (and who in turn have been protected from prosecution by their Indian superiors). We all know which ‘Empire’ is involved in these crimes RSS Harinder and it isn’t the dead empires of Rome and Britain.

      • The sacrilegious acts are a trap of Empire to start a civil war in peaceful Punjab.
Just learn the art of peaceful co existence to lead a enriching life
        .

      • I never said nor do I believe or contend that ALL Indians committed the genocide. For one thing Sikhs are also Indian citizens and they certainly didn’t go around putting kerosene lit tyres around their co-religionists necks! The fact they this didn’t even enter your mind to think of Sikhs as being Indian citizens says everything about your thinking about the magnitude of the crimes committed against them. Some thousands of Indians committed these crimes against humanity and they received active support, encouragement, approval, co-operation and protection from Indian polity, judiciary and police who believed in evil notion of collective punishment and have subsequently received the same from the media to rewrite history to absolve the nation’s conscience for a great crime. There are many Hindus are understand and accept that great and intolerable injustice was done to their brother Sikhs. You are not one of them unfortunately.

  9. Empires like the Mughals and the British – what happened to that? think about it …. not that you have taken account of anything that has been sent so far!

    • EVERY single empire in the history of the human race has thought it was invincible and EVERY single empire WITHOUT exception has fallen. Sikhs do not believe in the all knowing all seeing power of notions of man made Empire as we believe in the Almighty Waheguru’s omnipotence and omniscience and submit only to His divine will. This is what makes us so indomitable no matter the pain, cruelty and injustices we have been made to endure in our history down through the centuries – the hardest steel is forged in the hottest fire. I do feel some pity for you that you live in such a perpetual state of slave mind where you fear to stand up for your rights and those of your fellow citizens (brainwashed into thinking that is rebellion!) and urge you to recognise the divine splinter within yourself and human beings around you (no matter what religion they subscribe to or not). All human life is precious and sacred and you should defend the civil liberties and human rights of your fellow citizens – that promise of solidarity is what led to India’s birth and her potential for greatness lies in common humanity and not seeing one Indian brother as being less deserving of respect than another simply because he does not share your religious faith because ultimately the supreme power in the world is Waheguru (not manmukh Empire) and He is father to us all which makes everyone of us members of the same family. As such could you bear to see your grandmother manhandled, your sister raped, your brother beaten, your nephew thrown into a burning house, your uncle scalped? No, so why make deferential justification and excuses in the name of jingoistic nationalism to let such criminality and inhumanity be visited on the Sikh? India is better than that – its greatest shaheeds certainly thought so – Kartar Singh Sarabha, Bhagat Singh and Udham Singh.

      • ‘We Sikhs’ again? Do you seriously think anyone on this website believes you are a SIkh and not a RSS troll? You are again just parroting the brainwash narrative to justify attack on the Sikhs. The root cause again you completely ignore for this ‘rebellion’ which go back to before India is actually created and when promises are made to the Sikhs to induce them to join India instead of reforming their own sovereign country again. Talk of that insurrection and betrayal by the likes of Nehru, Congress and the Hinduvta polity in 1950s, 1960s (where ‘revolt’ against Punjab and the Sikh majority there is legitimised by the State by allowing referendum in 1966 encouraging Punjabi Hindus to see themselves as being seperate from their Punjabi Sikh kindred. 1978 the State is committing rebellion against Sikhs by using proxies to murder Sikhs in Amritsar. IN 1984 in the streets of Delhi for 4 days the police (those who are not actually involved in disarming Sikhs and sending mobs to their homes to murder them) are standing aside whilst the army is kept out of the city to allow Rajiv Gandhi to take personal revenge on Sikhs – the PM of the country with the full force of the state is committing mass murder – the five thousand plus raped and murdered in those 4 days is over a hundred worse in terms of the numbers killed and properties destroyed than Hitler achieved with his kristalnacht! You really need to read your history properly when you talk of constitution. As reported in Young India, 19th March 1931, Mahatma Gandhi addressed the Sikhs in Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib Delhi and said “I ask you to accept my word and the resolution of the Congress that it will not betray a single individual Sikh much less the Sikh community. If it ever thought of doing so, it would only hasten its own doom… I pray you to unbossom yourself of all doubt and apprehensions. Let God be witness to the bond that binds me and the Congress to you. I venture to suggest that the non-violence creed of the Congress is the surest guarantee of good faith and our Sikh friends have no reason to fear that it would betray them. For the moment it did so the Congress would not only thereby seals its own doom but that of the country also. Moreover the Sikhs are a brave people. They know how to safeguard their rights by the exercise of arms, if it ever come to that”. That same Gurdwara was attacked by Congress led mobs in 1984. At a press conference in 1946 as reported in the Statesman’s newspaper July 7th 1946, Nehru said “the brave SIkhs of Punjab are entitled to special consideration, I see nothing wrong in an area set up in the north wherein the SIkhs can also experience the glow of freedom”. Then in 9th December 1946 he presented a resolution in the session of constituent assembly “Adequate safeguards would be provided for minorities in India. It was a declaration, a pledge, and an undertaking before the world’ a contract with millions of Indians and therefore in the nature of a oath which we must keep”. He then passed a resolution in the Congress committee on 5th January 1947 “The rights of the Sikhs in Punjab should not be jeopardized”. In July 1947 they passed resolution “In the divided Indian PUnjab special constitutional measures are imperative to meet the just aspirations and rights of the Sikhs”. Now talk of Sikhs breaking the Constitution when bad faith has been given to them after 1947 despite these assurances. We are the most loyal people of India because we keep our word.

      • Nehru and Gandhi are gone.
        Congress Is on decline.
Now you tell us where do we go from here.
Do you have any future plan for us or we are to keep on hearing Nehru ,1947,1984 etc from you.
It is not correct to always live in history and I see you offering us any ray of hope.

      • ‘Nehru and Gandhi are gone.’ That does not mean the solemn pledge they made to the Sikhs to induce Sikhs to join India died with them otherwise you are saying that Sikhs do not need therefore to honour their part of the contract either. You keep on hearing about 1984 because that is an open festering wound which you and other apologist continue to pour salt into by saying we need to forget about it and the human rights abuses done against Sikhs. Those crimes against humanity were committed in the name of the State and with full sanction of the State – try to understand the magnitude of that. Indian citizens murdered in a state sanctioned pogrom akin to Hitler exterminating Jews in the streets of their own country. That is something you cannot just whitewash and forget about. You need to admit what wrong was done in the name of the state and by the instruments of the state and condemn those culprits who have been allowed to get away with murder. A civilised democratic country must address this issue unequivocally otherwise you are permitting future criminals to repeat such crimes wrapped in the flag. If you do not remember the past you are doomed to repeat it. You must ask yourself why you are content for criminals to go unpunished when they commit murder, rape, arson and theft of Sikhs.

  10. The. Fundamental goal of all EMPIRE is POWER.
The Empire will secure its relam which now encompasses the whole planet EARTH by its
    1) Army
    2) Client Armies of vassal states
    3) Use of Militias, Moderate Rebels
    4) Technology and weaponary

to keep a control over planet Earth.
The realm shall extend to Mars ,different planets ,galaxies till Artificial intelligence takes over in Technological Singularity.
Never mess or underestimate the power of Empire .
Respect the Empire for it is an evolutionary divine force.

    Be care

    • I have told you before no man is inconsequential – that is the fear your Empire thinking puts in your mind. All men are created equal by Waheguru and He destroys all Empires. What fear can you have of Empires when you have God on your side? This is the fear Empires have of the ‘inconsequential man’ when he holds this to be true for he is then completely unstoppable. You either have a Brahmanical mindset that you are nothing but a pawn, a bit of flotsam buffeted in life that simply must submit and blindly accept one’s miserable lot or the Khalsa conception that each Sikh is king in his own right and responsible for his own actions / inactions (which has allowed them to perform super heroic acts in the history of Punjab). Even the Dalits are now fighting for their rights after centuries of institutional prejudice and discrimination – if they have the moral fibre to throw off their mental shackles why can’t you? I know it is hard for you RSS Harinder because you are not a Sikh and have demonstrated an innate need to supplicate yourself but remember even the smallest mosquito can bring the greatest elephant crashing down to earth; and are you not a man rather than a bug? Empire is not an evolutionary divine force for it is utterly dependent on good men doing nothing whilst bad men run rampant.

  11. Who stands to benefit (if anyone at all) from the continued propagation of horrendous colonial policies. Certainly not human rights?

  12. I have said that any armed insurgency in any part of the world will be put down by a heavy hand by the Empire in colussion with the Nations security apparatus.
Most armies are client armies which the Empire uses to maintain a World order in different parts of world.
Sovereignty of most Nations is an illusion.

    • Just as the Earth is not flat neither the Roman or British Empire exists any longer and it is hypocritical on the one hand that you espouse jingoistic nationalism and on the other effectively state that Indians are not sophisticated enough to rule / misrule their own country and indeed are so stupid and incompetent that they are readily susceptible to manipulation from foreign governments. You can’t have it both ways – either you are pregnant or not pregnant.

  13. You need to remember that India is an British empire created administered unit run by the constitution of India.
Any one disturbing this unit by revolt or violence the Empire will crush it.

    • We could learn a lot about democracy from the British when it comes to their 30 year rule on releasing cabinet papers as without this rule we would not know that the British conspired with Indian Government in a plan (not used as the inempt Indian army decided to use their own even more disastrous attack plan) to assault the Darbar Sahib with the inevitable killing of Sikhs. Where is the 30 year rule in India that would see the release of cabinet papers which would reveal what decisions Indira and Rajiv Gandhi made in 1984 that saw the slaughter of Indian citizens who happened to be Sikhs in their tens of thousands? No in India we prefer to keep that dirty laundry unaired and uncleaned, hoping the stink won’t be noticed as we put them in the bottom of the basket. Politicians in India might think twice if they knew that even if they could manipulate the judiciary, polity and police in present day when they are in power that eventually under the constitution the nefarious decisions they took behind closed doors would be exposed to public scrutiny. Rather than trying to threaten Sikhs that they should keep quiet and keep their heads down when human rights abuses are committed against them you should rather be standing up for safeguarding our democracy against demagogues dressing themselves up in the flag to justify immoral and criminal behaviours.

      • As opposed to institutionalised caste system that teaches a Dalit that he cannot be anything more than his father’s profession and his life is less worthy than that of a wandering cow in the street? British politicians live in fear of being exposed by the media whereas our representatives can do whatever they want including shutting down TV stations when they feel it. A 30 year rule automatically releasing government papers would give Indian politicians worry about being prosecuted for any crimes they commit in office. It is better to learn from older democracies rather than just repeating their growing pains mistakes.

      • Yes I agree we as Indians and Sikhs need a lot to learn in this big world.
If India has follies then so do we Sikhs.
It will take us a lot of time to catch up with the world.
Genocides ate wrong done by any one and will always be a black spit on those who did it .

      • Our Akali dal and SGPC need to expand there horizon beyond Mughal and British Empire with which Sikhs had first hand experience.
Since then new Empires like America and Russia have cropped up.
Several more Empires will come up in future on different planets ,galaxies and Universe’s.
Sikhs should keep themselves safe from Empires to prevent a repeat of Genocide.
        Be very careful of Empires.

      • Why do you keep persisting on blaming foreign governments and even dead empires for the crimes committed by and in the name of the Indian State? What has the dead Roman and British Empires got to do with the genocidal pogroms against the Sikhs instigated, carried out, sponsored, approved, sanctioned, covered up and to this day defended by the Indian State (its politicians from all parties, its police and judiciary are all guilty of failing their sacred duty as much as the mobs encouraged, armed and given free reign to murder Sikhs with impugnity). As for the American Empire we wouldn’t even know some of the facts of these atrocities if we didn’t have the Snowden leaks about what American intelligence was picking up from its embassy in Delhi in 1984 about how much of the violence was orchestrated by Rajiv Ghandi’s party. And again for the British Empire you wish to pass the buck onto – it is thanks to their 30 year release policy of cabinet papers that we know that Indira Gandhi traitorously asked a foreign and former imperial power for military assistance in attacking Darbar Sahib more than six months before it happened (contradicting Indian army who said they had to do Operation Bluestar because time was so pressing). Where is the Indian Empire’s policy towards releasing governmental papers? They burn them and lose them and march into the museum and library of Darbar Sahib to loot its relics to try and rewrite Sikh history.

      • When you say ‘our Akali Dal and SGPC’ you mean the Hinduvta mafia’s. Why are you still pretending to be a Sikh? Every reader knows from your venomous posts that you loathe what the Sikhs stand for both in religious terms (belief in One God and rejection of Caste system in particular) and their historical achievements. It is plain to all your bitter resentment, jealousy and enmity towards the Sikhs as your posts reject historical truths and tell again and again Sikhs do not say anything when abuses are done against you, just submit, keep quiet otherwise the State will visit rape, murder and genocide upon you. A cringing attitude totally antithetical to Sikh ethos.
