NEW DELHI—In a case pertaining to massacre of three Sikhs at a Gurdwara in Pul Bangash area on November 1, 1984, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shivali Sharma has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to complete its probe within four months.  Going strict towards the slow proceedings in the case, Magistrate Shivali Sharma asked the CBI to expedite case proceedings and submit the final report as soon as possible.

Notably, three Sikhs namely Badal Singh, Thakur Singh and Gurcharan Singh were killed by a Hindu mob led by Congress leader Jagdish Tytler near a Gurdwara in Pul Bangash area of the National Capital of India.

On being asked how much time it would take to complete the probe, the CBI officials sought time frame of four months. The officials said that the probing agency was trying to contact the concerned agencies in the case but it will take time to get proper response from them. The Magistrate then allotted time of four months deferring the next hearing of case onto February 16, 2017.

Refuting the allegations leveled by prosecution lawyer HS Phoolka of shielding Jagdish Tytler, the CBI officials informed the Court that they contacted Narinder Singh (son of chief witness) over phone but he refused to join the probe. Earlier, the CBI officials had told the Court that they were unable to establish contact with Narinder Singh in Canada following which HS Phoolka had alleged on CBI officials of shielding Jagdish Tytler under political influence. HS Phoolka had said that the probing agency had tried to give clean chit to Jagidsh Tytler thrice.  He also presented the contact details of Narinder Singh before Court.

It may be recalled here that Jagdish Tytler had been given clean chit in this case two times as the eye witness of the case had changed his version. Later, it had come into light that the key culprit Jagdish Tytler had bribed the Chief witness with transferring a large ransom on his son’s name to a foreign country via Hawala.
