BATHINDA, Punjab—Speaking with Sikh24 on October 19, General Secretary of United Akali Dal Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda has said that every decision regarding Sarbat Khalsa 2016 called at Talwandi Sabo is in hands of Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara.
Sikh24 contact Bhai Bathinda to inquire why the United Akali Dal or the Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar did not attend the Panthik meeting in Chandigarh on October 18 called by suspended Akal Takht Sahib Punj Piare.
“Before we initiate any talks with the Punj Piare, we want them to clarify their stance on Sarbat Khalsa 2015,” Bhai Bathinda said. “Bhai Hawara needs to take the call and break the standby, but we will not initiate any talks until the Punj Piare first accept the resolutions passed at village Chabba in November last year.”
Explaining the cause of standby between Punj Piare and the organizers of Sarbat Khalsa 2015, Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda informed that Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand, Jathedar Amrik Singh Ajnala and Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal have conditioned the Punj Piares to first recognize the decisions announced in Sarbat Khalsa 2015. “Till now, there seems to be no development in the process to break tie between them,” said Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda.
The suspended Punj Singhs had called a meeting of worldwide Sikh bodies in Chandigarh on October 18 as per directions of Akal Takht Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara. But the Sarbat Khalsa 2015 appointed Jathedars Bhai Dhian Singh Mand, Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala and Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal did not attend the meeting. Instead, Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal and Bhai Dhian Singh Mand continued their own meetings with regarding Sarbat Khalsa 2016.
Sarbatt Khalsa, 5 Payaras, Akal Takth. Head, SGPC, Akali Dal, NRI Sikhs, all need to have some sort of system which avoids confusions .
