AMRITSAR SAHIB—A year after the martyrdom of two Sikh youths in Police firing at Behbal Klan, SGPC has again called renowned Sikh preacher Giani Pinderpal Singh for Katha at Diwan Hall of Gurdwara Manji Sahib within Sri Harmandir Sahib complex. Sikh24 has learnt that Giani Pinderpal Singh has accepted the call and he is likely to start his religious discourse from October 21.

As per information available from reliable sources within the SGPC, the senior officials of SGPC presented the invitation call for Katha to Giani Pinderpal Singh on October 14.

Earlier, the SGPC had stopped Giani Pinderpal Singh last year from addressing Katha at Gurdwara Manji Sahib for condemning the Punjab government’s act of martyring two innocent Sikh youths in Police firing.

Notably, Shaheed Bhai Gurjit Singh and Shaheed Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh were martyred in an unprovoked police firing on October 14, 2015 when the Sikh activists were staging protest against inability of Police in locating the Holy Scripture of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji stolen from Gurdwara Sahib of village Burj Jawahar Singh Wala. The extra-judicial killings of these youths had drawn worldwide criticism for Punjab government.
