LUDHIANA—Addressing a press conference at Ludhiana on September 28, the SGPC President, Avtar Makkar, informed that the SGPC was going to release a booklet about the Sikh Identity in wake of the rising racial attacks on Sikhs in foreign countries. He added that the booklet was prepared by renowned Sikh intellectuals who focus of preaching Sikhism and Sikh identity among foreigners. He said that the booklet will be distributed among political leaders, envoys and bureaucrats of all countries.
Makkar informed us that the SGPC was going to organize a mega function in commemoration of the 350th birthday anniversary of the tenth Sikh master, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, at Sri Anandpur Sahib on October 9 and at Takht Sri Hazur Sahib on October 28.
“A Bus carrying sacred weapons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji will start from Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 20 and will reach Takht Sri Hazur Sahib on December 2,” he informed. He further informed us that a national level hockey tournament will be held at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib.
How true is your statement about SGPC – pathetic commitee
As far as Sikhs living in diaspora SGPC has become a joke. This organisation has become a branch of RSS, What has these people done for Sikhs living in Punjab, every other day a kesadhari Sikh boy is tortured by police, his turban is taken off and is used to tie his hands. Beadbhi of Guru Granth Sahib has become a routine, idols are being installed on the grounds owned by SGPC . What have they done to counter RSS Shaka’s and continues attack on the religion portarying sikhs as hindus Guru Gobind Singh is being portrayed as praying to Durga in mandirs. I can go on and on . In short SGPC has failed us on every front may it be religious or political: list is too long for this comment section. Please clean up your act so we in the diaspora can be proud of our panthic organisations.We don’t need these pamphlets save this money and take care of the needy.
