Man of Sikh Heritage Hailed As Hero After NY Bombings

Harinder Bains hailed Hero After Finding NY Bombing SuspectNEW YORK CITY, USA—A two day man-hunt has ended after Harinder Bains, a man of Sikh heritage in New York, aided the capture of one of the suspected terrorists behind the New York and New Jersey bombings, which took place over the weekend.

Harinder discovered the suspect cowering outside his business premises and after a short while suspected the identity of the man to be Ahmad Rahami, wanted by the police in connection to the bombings. He immediately contacted the police.

After police arrived to verify Ahmad’s identity, Ahmad fired shots at the police which resulted in a short firefight, injuring the suspect, which then led to his capture.

Harinder has been interviewed by news outlets and commended by public on social media for what he did and has been hailed as a hero. Harinder replied that he did what any other American would have done and suggested that all Americans continue to work together in unity.

He added that being raised with Sikh values, standing up to atrocities and persecution was his duty.

He modestly deflected any praise back towards law enforcement officers and agents who have been working tirelessly over the last few days since the multiple bombing incidents over the weekend.

Many members of the public have noted that Harinder himself was an immigrant who, as most Sikhs, has become a positive contributor within society and successfully runs his own business.

Sikhs themselves have directly suffered after 9/11 after being repeatedly attacked throughout the US due to being mistakenly targeted by racists who were attempting to attack people of Islamic or Arabic dissent.
