BAGHAPURANA, Moga—On the eve of releasing Farmers’ manifesto in a well-attended rally at Baghapurana on September 12, AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, vowed to make the farmers of Punjab debt-free by the end of 2018 if AAP succeeds in 2017’s assembly polls.
Holding the Akali Dal and Congress responsible for plight of farmers in Punjab, Kejriwal announced to bring a law on the lines of ‘Sir Chhotu Ram Act of 1934’ to cut debt of farmers from private moneylenders.
He announced that if the crops of farmers get destroyed due to natural blunders, minimum of Rs. 20,000/- per acre compensation will be given. He also announced compensation worth Rs. 500,000 plus a government job for the families of farmers who committed suicides in last 10 years.
In an attempt to hijack the tricks of Akali Dal, Kejriwal also announced to return land of Satluj-Yamuna Canal to its owners and provide more money for beneficiaries of Shagun scheme and old age pensions beside addition of a million more beneficiaries of “Atta-Dal scheme”.
Lashing out at the Akali Dal for committing exemplary corruption, Kejriwal said that he will throw Akali Ministers Tota Singh, Bikram Majithia, Sikandar Maluka and Adesh Partap Kairon behind bars under corruption charges. Notably, Tota is Agriculture Minister, Bikram Majithia is Revenue Minister, Sikandar Maluka is Rural Development Minister and Adesh Partap Kairon is Minister of Food & Civil Supplies.
Kejriwal alleged that Tota Singh had recommended pesticides of lower quality that resulted in loss of cotton-seed crop last year in Malwa region. Similarly, a scam worth Rs. 12,000/- crore came into light in the Department being looked after by Adesh Partap Kairon. Bikram Majithia is considered as kingpin of Drug Mafia.
Giving indirect indications about Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Kejriwal said that AAP has zero tolerance towards corruption. He added that AAP had erected an example by sacking its three ministers under corruption charges while the Akali Dal and Congress parties were carrying corruption blotted leaders along with them.
Taking on Captain Amarinder Singh for playing politics of compromise with Akali dal, Kejriwal said that why Captain Amarinder Singh feels burnt when he talks of jailing Badal clan and Majithia. “Whenever I talk about jailing drug mafia kingpin Bikram Majithia, Captain says he will throw me out of Punjab,” he added.
Let all political parties in Punjab tell how and how soon they will make people and state of Punjab
” DEBT FREE”.
It should be part of their election manifesto.
Yes Sikhs of today need to develop their philosophy of Chardi Kala and expand it further to put a full stop on Suicides by Sikhs especially farmers.
For the Debt trap SGPC needs to hire some experts on Economics, Banking and human Psychology.

You don’t ‘develop’ philosophy of Chardi Kala but rather implement it. How can you ‘develop’ a Gurmat way of living that has already been fully formulated by the Guru? Sikh farmers are committing suicide because the level of sheer desperation, depression and frustration they are economically forced into by the State. It is the State then which must change its policies such as implementing the concept seen in western democracies of being able to declare oneself bankrupt to discharge debt without having to lose your very home. As for SGPC they are a corrupt, degenerate chocolate teapot organisation only interested in how much money each of them can siphon off so they will never personally be in debt.
All things evolve with time.
We need to amplify the message of chadi Kala so that it becomes an anti dote to Suicides.
We need to either burrow the western model of debt management. Else some bright guy amongst us need to find a answer to the Debt problem .
The few suggestion I can think of is that we got to focus on our future bread which we will find in Good Science ,technology and the infinite SPACE.
We seriously got to transform ourselves into space faring people as we will be loosing this earth along with Punjab to the expanding and dying SUN in 4 billion years from now.
I have already explained to you in detail why Sikh doctrine does not ‘evolve’ with time – a religious faith if it has any real value is immutable. There is nothing in the progressive tenets of Sikhi that have become outdated or need amending. I have challenged you before to tell which you can find and you have always failed to answer with even one principle in Sikhi that needs ‘evolving’. And again you state ‘chadi kala’ instead of chardi kala which would be the third time you have mistyped?

You should try and be consistent rather than thinking one law for one Indian citizen and the opposite for another. Also very telling that you use the term ‘father’ invoking the fatherland sensibility so favoured by the likes of fascists. I prefer ‘mother’ when talking about the soil of Punjab and India as it indicates the Sikh feeling of protectiveness and honour towards our motherland.

A new banking model needs to be developed so that no one is under debt .
A new philosophy should be propogated so that debt should not translate into Suicide .
A Suicide prevention society needs to be established in every village and town of Punjab
We already have a suicide prevention policy and debt awareness discipline in Punjab – it is called Sikhi.
Punjab govt needs to make all people of Punjab Debt free by a law .
Let people of Punjab start with a fresh debt free state.
We should also from childhood be taught the pride of living within your own means.
