Despite Growing Tensions, AAP To Release Farmers’ Manifesto On September 11

CHANDIGARH—In attempt to shift media focus, Aam Aadmi Party is gearing to release its farmers’ manifesto on September 11.  Head of the AAP’s Manifesto Committee, Journalist Kanwar Sandhu, informed Sikh24 that the farmers’ manifesto of the AAP will be released in Moga.  He informed us that AAP’s National convener and Chief Minister of Delhi will release the manifesto. AAP new

Journalist Kanwar Sandhu informed us that the Farmers’ manifesto was prepared keeping in view the plight of farmers in Punjab. He informed us that the AAP focused on achieving a ‘zero-farmer suicide state’ within a year of the Government formation. “A special Debt-relief package is on cards to put control over the suicides by debt-ridden farmers,” he added. 

Sandhu also stated that the Manifesto was prepared by the team ‘Bolda Punjab’ after interacting with famers in Moga, Talwandi Bhai, Bathinda, Mansa, Nadala, Hoshiarpur, Tarn Taran and Ludhiana. “About 2400 suggestions received via Email, SMSs, and Whatsapp were considered to conclude the strategy to bring back cheer on the faces of farmers,” he added.

“Problems of the farmers in Kandhi belt, Mand areas and the Border belt were especially kept on cards while preparing the Farmers’ manifesto,” added the Head of the Manifesto Committee Kanwar Sandhu. 

He also informed us that the manifestos for SC/ST, Industrial and Trade plight in Punjab will also be released following the Farmers’ manifesto. He added that the dialogues with representatives of these categories are already under way.
