AMRITSAR SAHIB—SGPC appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Gurbachan Singh, called a gathering of Sikhs at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on September 6 to deliberate upon the rising incidents of desecration of Gurbani scriptures across the world. He appealed to all of the Sikh organizations, cults and intellectuals to attend the gathering on September 6 on Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Interacting with the media at the secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Sri Darbar Sahib Complex, Giani Gurbachan Singh said that the rising incidents of the desecration of Sikh scriptures were a matter of worry. Appealing to all of the Sikh intellectuals to attend the gathering, he said that the Sikh intellectuals can also send their suggestions via Email or fax before September 6.
Giani Gurbachan Singh said that the issues of the rising racial attacks on Sikhs abroad due to mistaken identity will also be deliberated during the gathering of September 6. Condemning the broadcasting of news in Punjab from All India Radio, Giani Gurbachan Singh said that this issue will also be deliberated upon during the gathering. He added that the next course of action would be chalked out as per the conclusion during the gathering.
