Over $60,000 Raised for Khalsa Aid During Fundraising Dinner in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Australia—Over 500 people attended the first fundraising dinner on August 14, 2016 in support of Khalsa Aid Charity Organization, which works for humanitarian causes all over the world. The gala and auction, which took place at Spirit of India restaurant, grossed over $60,000 and raised $29,000 through auction item sales, making it the most successful event ever for Khalsa Aid in Australia.

The event featured keynote speaker Ravi Singh, CEO/Founder of Khalsa aid, who shared his vision and story on humanitarian and disaster relief work around the world.  Ravi Singh’s work has inspired the local Melbourne community and others around the world. Khalsa Aid General Secretary Balwinder Kaur and India Director Amarpreet Singh also shared their stories and talked about ongoing Khalsa Aid relief work.

Other local speakers included Ms Maria Vamvakinou MP, Whittlesea Councillor Mary Lalios, Maria. Guests came from far and wide, spanning across Shepparton and Mildura.

Founded in 1993, Khalsa Aid is an international NGO with the aim to provide humanitarian aid in disaster areas and civil conflict zones around the world. The organisation is based upon the Sikh principle of ‘Recognise the whole human race as one’.  The organisation has done relief work across Asia, Europe, Africa and North America.
