India Today apologizes for presenting Kejriwal in Sikh Costume

NEW DELHI—Renowned Magazine India Today has tendered an unconditional apology for publishing photo of Arvind Kejriwal in Sikh costume on cover page of its July 2016 edition. The magazine authorities have clarified that the photo was not published with intention to hurt sentiments of Sikh community, instead they published it to represent Kejriwal according to culture of Punjab.

The magazine authorities have informed that the cover page of July 2016 edition from their website has been removed.

DSGMC President Manjit Singh GK and General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa had issued a notice to the Magazine authorities to tender an unconditional apology.  Following the apology by India Today, Sirsa posted, “The ire of Sikhs have forced India today to apologise for their wrong-doing. They had showcased Kejriwal as a Sikh warrior on their cover page.”
