AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Majithia is in no mood to consider the “apology” by Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal.  In a furious statement delivered in Mehta earlier today, Majithia blasted Kejriwal and other AAP leaders for performing a “photo session” while washing utensils at Sri Darbar Sahib.

Speaking with press, Majithia said, “Kejriwal had befooled Sikh masses by undergoing a photo session of scrubbing already clean utensils.”  He blamed Kejriwal for not paying obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum.  “Kejriwal had no time to perform ardas, instead he directly moved to the langar to have photo session there,” Majithia said.

Arvind Kejriwal had performed service of scrubbing utensils at Sri Darbar Sahib in the wee hours of July 18 seeking apology from Sikh masses for unintentionally and inadvertently superimposing photo of Sri Harmandir Sahib on Youth Manifesto.

Following the release of its Youth Manifesto, AAP has been under fire of opposite parties like Akali Dal and Congress. The title of the manifesto contained AAP’s symbol ‘broom’ superimposed on the photo of central Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib.  In addition, the Dialogue Incharge of AAP from Delhi Ashish Khetan had compared the Youth Manifesto with Holy Scriptures of Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims.

  1. Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Majithia has blamed Kejriwal for not paying obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum. “Kejriwal had no time to perform ardas, instead he directly moved to the langar to have photo session there”. As far as I know Kejriwal is not a Sikh so why do you expect him to be doing ardas at Darbar Sahib? The fact of the matter is his party made a grievous insult against the Sikh kaum but he as leader apologised for it and came to Darbar Sahib to humble himself and atone for it. I as a Sikh forgive him his trespass because he has asked for forgiveness. It is between him and Waheguru if he was actually sincere in his contrition in his heart. Majithia should rather concern himself with the drug lord allegations made against himself and perhaps counsel his confederate Sukhbir Badal against seeking saropas every time he visits the Darbar Sahib if he is really so worked up about politicians photo opportunities.
