Drug Menace In Punjab: Bhai Papalpreet Singh Lashes Out At Sukhbir Badal For Fooling Punjab Civilians

DrugsAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—The Chief Organizing secretary of the Youth Akali Dal in Amritsar, Bhai Papalpreet Singh on June 22, took strict notice of Sukhbir Badal’s claims that the Drugs have been blown out of Punjab by the Akali government.

Commenting on the claims being made by Sukhbir Badal of conducting a dope test of aspirants willing to join Punjab police, Bhai Papalpreet Singh said that Sukhbir can’t run away from the reality by conducting dope tests on only half a million aspirants out of a total of 30 million, which is the population of Punjab.

Bhai Papalpreet Singh said that Sukhbir was fooling the Punjab civilians as it is assured that only a healthy youth could think of joining the police. He added that the drug addicted people are only thinking day & night of how to fulfil their need of drugs. He said that if Punjab was a drug free state, then why was the state government opening numerous ‘Rehabilitation Centres’ in a single district. ‘What can be worse than the current state is that a rehabilitation centre for girls has also opened in Amritsar’ he added.

The release of new movie ‘Udta Punjab’ sparked a debate over the drug menace problem in Punjab. The movie portrayed the drug menace amongst the common youth of Punjab. Sukhbir Badal tried his best to stop the movie from hitting the  screens in Punjab but the leaked version of the movie reached the Punjab masses before its release.

While the Congress is blaming the Akali leaders of selling Drugs, the Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Badal, is on his toes to prove it wrong. Sukhbir had earlier said in a statement that dope tests for 6 lakh aspirants of those who are joining the Punjab police was made compulsory. He claimed that the dope test statistics of these aspirants will reveal the true image of Punjab.

    • This problem did not exist in 1984. Half the people who have the power to stop this scourge are implicated in profiting from it! The Police Chief? What the one who has been incriminated by one of his own subordinates in extra judicial killings of Sikhs or Jagdish Bhola, DSP dismissed for being a drug lord? Political leaders? Bikram Majithia, State Revenue and NRI affairs minister (and very close to Badals) who Bhola claims is kingpin of entire drug racket along with two other Punjab Cabinet Ministers? The AAP on May 17 2016 sought immediate arrest of stating “Mr Bikram Singh Majithia should be immediately arrested as Bittu Aulakh who is a drug smuggler and former treasurer of Shiromani Akali Dal Badal, Amritsar District, Jagjit Chahal, who is a drug smuggler and owner of Chemical factory and Jagdish Bhola who is a drug smuggler and former DSP of Punjab Police, have all categorically stated in their statements that Bikram Majithia is responsible for the flourishing of the drug trade in Punjab!’ – the memorandum was submitted to the Governor of Punjab on May 16th 2016 and so far nothing has been done. Why should it be be when they all have Badal patronage. Religious leaders? The SGPC’s Makkar – another Badal acolyte – who sanctions sale of drugs at Hola Mohalla? Who do you think you are kidding? Everyone in Punjab knows who the drug dealers and drug lords are and they have zero interest in turning off the tap. You seriously want to get rid of the problem stop trying to castrate Sikhism in Punjab and put Sikh army regiments back in Punjab to seal the border. Drug supply would be dead in a month and addicts would all be recovered in a year with Khalsa’s discipline. We need foreign accounting firms and civil liberties NGOs to look into the bank accounts of all the Punjab politicians, police and religious leaders (and their families) to see what they have declared and what they actually own and where exactly the money came from. Transparency cures all evils, if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear.
