AMRITSAR SAHIB—Pro-freedom Sikh body Dal Khalsa has given a call for all of Amritsar to shut down on June 6 in protest of Operation Blue Star. Addressing a press conference in Amritsar earlier this week, the President of Dal Khalsa, Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema, and the senior leader, Bhai Kanwarpal Singh, appealed to all the communities residing in Amritsar to keep their shops shut on June 6.

They informed us that a ‘Holocaust Remembrance March’ will be held in Amritsar on June 3 that will conclude at Sri Akal Takht Sahib after traversing through many main spots of the city. They added that Sikh activists will pay tribute to the martyrs of the June 1984’s carnage by displaying their pictures in the March.

Commenting on the assassination attack on Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale, they alleged that the police were not probing the case independently. They expressed deep concern over the emerging internal war within the Sikh community.

Bhai Jasbir Singh Khandoor, Bhai Ranbir Singh, Bhai Noblejit Singh, Bhai Paramjit Singh Tanda, Bhai Gurpreet Singh, Bhai Manjit Singh, Bhai Gurmeet Singh, Bhai Harjinder Singh, Bhai Arvinder Singh, and Bhai Gagandeep Singh were also present on this occasion.
