MEHTA, Punjab—During a press conference that just finished at Chowk Mehta, Baba Harnaam Singh Dhumma, leader of a Damdami Taksal sect, said that the Sikh Sangat and students of the Damdami Taksal have been deeply hurt due to the so-called “objectionable” remarks against the Damdami Taksal. He also said that sentiments of Sikh Sangat have been hurt not just in Punjab, but internationally.
“Damdami Taksal was started by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and no Sikh could bear insults towards the Taksal. I can understand the resentment and anger towards Dhadrianwale by the Sikh sangat,” Baba Harnaam Singh Dhumma said during the press statement today, May 23.
On May 17, Bhai Dhadrianwale was on his way to a diwan at village Isewal (Mullanpur Dakha) in Ludhiana when a gang of 40 people fired gunshots at his convoy. Baba Bhupinder Singh, another Singh who dresses just like Bhai Dhadrianwale was shot dead.
On Saturday, May 21, Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale gave an ultimatum to the Punjab Government asking it to provide full details of the investigations and name the masterminds of the attack. “The Government has made several arrests in the case, and the attackers have taken full responsibility of the attack, however the Government has refrained to name the mastermind of the attack. I feel the Government is shielding the main culprits, Bhai Dhadrianwale told Sikh24.
“Where were the Panthik organizations and the Government when Dhadrianwale made ‘derogatory’ remarks towards the Damdami Taksal and the dastar of Taksal chief?” Baba Harnaam Singh Dhumma asked.
During the press statement, Baba Harnaam Singh Dhumma accepted that the attackers were associated with the Damdami Taksal. “While here I express condolences at the passing away of Baba Bhupinder Singh from Dhakki Sahib, I want to make it clear that I also respect the sentiments of the attackers and will support them in every possible way,” Baba Harnaam Singh Dhumma said.
“We are ready to fight cases of these Singhs legally and provide all assistance as required,” he added. In terms of his own involvement, Baba Harnaam Singh Dhumma said, “I was unaware of the attack but some of the attackers are students of the Damdami Taksal and use the vehicles here from time to time.” Baba Dhumma appealed to Bhai Dhadrianwale to refrain from indulging in commentary that leads to bickering within Sikh brothers.
Eight attackers were sent to a 4 day police remand on Friday, May 23 by the Ludhiana Sessions Court. After their appearance in the case, one of the attackers claimed responsibility and said Bhai Dhadrianwale was attacked for his remarks on Sri Dasam Granth. “Anyone who utters derogatory remarks on Dasam Bani will face the same fate,” said one of the attackers Gagandeep Singh from Mehta. The statement has been refuted by Bhai Dhadrianwale. “If there is any anti-Dasam Granth statement issued by me, please bring it to the fore,” Dhadrianwale said in a press statement.
The attack on Bhai Dhadhrianwale and jatha is one of the very few times in contemporary Sikh history where one group of gursikhs has fatally attacked another. This issue may not be resolved at a panthik level anytime soon as there are two groups of jathedars claiming legitimate authority over the takhts. Ex-Jathedar Gurbachan Singh currently enjoys the support of the same government that supports Baba Dhumma’s actions.

Right now Punjab is heading towards a state that is similar to Syria. There is no stability and these leaders who are using religion as way to gain and hold power is ruining both worlds (religion and Democracy). Our religious institutions and government should be separate because both are ruining the lives of people in the punjab.
To solve a problem one must get to bottom. Akal Thakat Jathedars have been disgraced accused of bribes. Their relatives are on the payroll of SGPC. Gurbachan The Jathedar’s has accumulated realestate by virtue of his position. His son holds many licenses for the sale of liquor. Damdmi Taksal is infiltrated by RSS. One must ask how is this happening. In short Badal controls these unsavory characters and Badal is controlled by RSS, BJP and other fascist Hindu origination.
So what is the solution ask yourself?
Police and political parties in Punjab to maintain harmony among all its inhabitants and prevent Punjab slipping into anarchy and chaos .
Who watches the Watchmen..? The problem with this is the Punjab Police have as much integrity as a chocolate teapot. They have themselves murdered two Sikhs on the street in Kotkapura only seven months ago and have not even brought their own guilty officers to book. As for political parties in Punjab those who are in positions of power and influence must be subject to close scrutiny and be able to withstand criticism – that is fundamental to keeping checks and balances on their ability to abuse power especially when those at the top like Badal have control over the police, media and SGPC in Punjab. Who watches the Watchmen when decency, dignity and democracy are not respected even by our police and politicians? Both of the latter have shamelessly and shamefully let down the Sikhs.
Let Punjab not slip into a sectarian war .
Let there be peace and harmony among all people in Punjab
If allowed to grow unchecked it will lead to Punjab becoming another Syria or Iraq.
Do not provoked on lines of religion , caste , Languages ,state ,Nation or any other divisions .

The easiest and best solution is to implement the Anandpur Sahib Resolutions in full and issue a public nationwide apology to the Sikhs from the State of India in the same gracious mea culpa way the Canadians have done with their apology over Komogatu Maru and order the arrest and trial of all those accused (Jagdish Tytler, Sajjan Kumar, Kamal Nath et al) of the 1984 genocide of Sikhs as well as truth and reconciliation courts (as they did in South Africa) over the extra judicial crimes committed by the Police during the 1980s and 1990s – (self confessed police murderer Gurmeet Pinky is ready to give his deposition if only a judge will let him speak) as well as the release of all political Sikh prisoners of conscience. That’s how you heal the wounds and let us stand united as you cannot stand united if you are made to continually feel you are second class even third class citizen in your own country (for which your community has made the greatest sacrifices to both found and defend against countries).
Dhuma ain’t no leader of Damdami Taksal. He’s just a fat puppet of RSS Badal. Throw that monkey a banana and he will say what he needs to say for his master!
Sick and tired of hearing the bs from these fake Sikhs that are puppets of the Hindus. What has Dhuma done for the Panth?? What achievement has he had? How did he become the supposed “leader of the Taksal”?? How is he NOT a Pakhandi????
