TARN TARAN, Punjab—After being released from jail, Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh Mand has started his panthik activities. On April 26, he will conduct a meeting with Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal at Ferozepur.

Bhai Mand also met Jathedar Satnam Singh Manawa who was the stage secretary during the last Sarbat Khalsa, held at village Chabba of Amritsar Sahib on Nov 10, 2015. During his visit to Khemkaran, Jathedar Mand said that the entire Sikh community should unite on a single platform to save Sikh values, which have been threatened by the political forces which control the Akal Takht Sahib and other Sikh shrines.

At the next Sarbat Khalsa, slated for November 10 at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo, he said that the main agenda item would be to set norms and procedures to appoint and retire Jathedars of Takhts.  He said Sikhs from the Malwa region had participated in unprecedented numbers during the last Sarbat Khalsa held in the Majha region. He said that Sikhs from the Majha region should ensure the success of the next Sarbat Khalsa.

Bhai Mand and other Jathedars will deliberate upon various issues, including re-uniting Panthik Jathebandis for Sarbat Khalsa 2016.

  1. Why do we have to be copy cat what rest of the worrld does.
It is impossible for Indian Sarbatt Khalsa to discuss the problems faced by American ,French or Afghanistan Sikhs. They have to find there own answers I believe.

    • Again you are showing your total ignorance of what it is to be a Sikh. You think an ‘Indian’ Sikh can ignore the suffering of his French brethren Sikh who is not allowed to wear his dastaar? You think ‘Indian’ Sikh cannot and should not feel the pain when a Gurdwara is attacked in the US and a Sikh is murdered there? YOu think an ‘Indian’ SIkh cannot and should not feel anguish and pain and solidarity for his Sikh brethren murdered in Afghanistan, that it doesn’t matter to him if Guru Granth Sahib’s saroop is desecrated there? Not an ‘Indian’ Sikhs problem? NO, what you really mean and what you really fear is for Sikhs in the world wide disapora who have increased influence politically since 1984 (particularly in countries like Canada, Australia, US and UK) coming to the aid of their Sikh brothers who are facing discrimination and persecution here in India. You want to create artificial ‘Sarbat Khalsas’ all ver the world so that you can say oh, the Sikhs don;t have a unified position. That makes it easy for you then to dismiss any resolutions passed by Sarbat Khalsa in Punjab as you can say well, there are differences in these positions elsewhere in the world with Sikhs. Don;t you understand that most of the Sikhs born in overseas countries nevertheless have a blood connection to Sikh homeland of Punjab being the descendants of Punjabi emigres and expatriots which gives them unbreakable bond with their Sikh kinsmen in India. On top of that Sikhs are connected no matter which country they are in by the same problems they face. SIkhs in Freance are discriminated against for wearing their dastaar – same thing happens in Punjab where you can be shot dead or banned from entering a court room or exam hall if you dare to wear your dastaar and kirpan. You tell which problems NRIS Sikhs are facing that we Sikhs don’t face here too in India? You can’t because your contention is purely to divide and rule the Sikhs and you are deeply unnerved by the success of the Sarbat Khalsa last year and the spectre of it being even more successful again no matter your harassment and imprisonment of Sikhs for attending and banning overseas Sikhs from obtaining Visas to attend. Sikh kaum is one nation under Waheguru.

  2. Sikhs in different countries must hold there own Sarbat Khalsa .
The decisions taken at the Indian Punjab Sarbat Khalsa will not be able to address issues faced by them in their new Countries

    • You are mischievously trying to divide up the Sikh kaum by suggesting that Sikhs in other countries should have their ‘own’ Sarbat Khalsa and that the one in PUnjab is somehow ‘Indian Punjab’ Sarbat Khalsa. There is only one Sarbat Khalsa just as there is only one Khalsa Panth and one Sikh kaum. Every single Sarbat Khalsa in history of the Sikh nation has been held in the Sikh homeland of Punjab. Every Sikh in every country of the world looks to Amritsar just as every Jew in the world looks to Jerusalem and every Muslim in every country looks to Mecca.
