Simranjit Singh Mann Holds Conference at Anandpur Sahib

SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB—At a Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) conference at Anandpur Sahib on the eve of Hola Mohalla, the party’s president, Simranjit Singh Mann, said that Badal undermined Sikh traditions to fulfill his political interests. He said that junior Badal (Sukhbir Badal) played with the sentiments of the Sikh community by getting the Akal Takht Sahib to pardon Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

Mann appealed to the people of Punjab to support his party in the upcoming assembly elections of 2017. He asserted that his party was committed to fighting for justice for the families who suffered in 1984.

Several resolutions were unanimously passed in the conference which included: controlling the SGPC’s corruption in Gurdwaras, expanding the boundaries of Punjab, and increasing the quota for Sikh candidates in the recruitment of Delhi Police and Chandigarh Police.

Among the prominent leaders present on this occasion, were Bhai Mohkam Singh (President, United Akali Dal), Bibi Pritam Kaur (wife of Shaheed Bhai Rashpal Singh P.A), Prof. Mohinderpal Singh (General Secretary, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar)), S. Fauja Singh Dhanauri (District President, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar)), S. Surinder Singh, and S. Dilbag Singh.
