AMRITSAR SAHIB—Reacting swiftly to an incident of a photo of Sri Harmandir Sahib being printed on a set of socks and shoes by a US based website, the SGPC Chief Avtar Singh Makkar has sought action against the website owners from US authorities.
Makkar said that this incident has hurt the sentiments of devotees of all religions that hold an attachment with Sri Harmandir Sahib. He added Sri Harmandir Sahib is symbol of unity of all caste, creeds and religions but by disrespecting Sri Harmandir Sahib, the website owners have committed an unforgiveable sin.
Makkar has appealed to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj to pressurize the US government to take strict action against the website owners.
