FARIDKOT, Punjab—In a bid to frame Sikh youth in the desecration cases across Punjab, the Punjab police have arrested an innocent Sikh youth Bhai Gurmukh Singh Bargari. Bhai Gurmukh Singh Bargari was abducted by the Punjab police in the morning some days ago and the police severely tortured him in police station of Mansa.
When his family members started searching for him they came to know about his arrest. Later, the family approached panthik organizations and the police had to release Bhai Gurmukh Singh on guarantee the of his father.
Bhai Gurmukh Singh Bargari earns his life by selling newspapers. Bhai Pritpal Singh, brother of Bhai Gurmukh Singh Bargari, said that the Police was adamant to frame his brother in the desecration cases since Gurmukh Singh and Protpal Singh protested against Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal during his visit to Behbal Klan village. He added that the Police are conducting raids at the home of the step-mother of Bhai Gurmukh Singh Bargari.
“Police have been giving electric shocks to Bhai Gurmukh Singh Bargari to forcibly make him admit that he was behind the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib” he added.
It is worth mentioning here that Akali government in Punjab have been under intense pressure to unearth those responsible behind a series of desecration incidents across Punjab in mid-October of last year. In the wake of upcoming 2017 assembly elections, it has become even more necessary for the Akali government to make headway in the case, in order to prevent the issue becoming an election stunt for anti-Akali parties.
Recently, the firm stand of Congress of not contesting the Khadoor Sahib by-poll slated for February 13 has made the Akali government worried about the issue. Internal sources within Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) have informed that the party was much worried about the issue as it has undermined their credibility.
Badal and the RSS go and rot in hell…. You can only accuse Sikhs for sacrilege because you are hiding the real culprits… how can a Sikh even think about such things – just because you Badals have no respect for Guru Granth Sahib JI.
Torturing is a crime and morally reprehensible which many state does to its citizens .
In 1980-90 Sikh’s were tortured by the 1980-1990 Punjab govt and none of us liked it .

Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara is being tortured in prison custody today in 2016 not being allowed his civil and human rights (no visitors, brutality by prisoner officers, medical treatment withheld etc) so the morally reprehensible crimes of torture against Sikhs is not a historical event of just the 1980s through to mid 90s, it is still happening in Punjab today. You also have the vivid example of how Bapu Surat SIngh has been treated and abused (kidnapped repeatedly from his home and force fed against his will in totally undignified and illegal manner). The Punjab Government has and is still also committing these crimes in complicity with Central Government.
That is why I say that the Indian state should change it British Empire inherited laws which gives unbridled power to states be it Britain ,India or Punjab state.
We need to reconstruct our laws by thinkers and wise law maker based on our perception of world we want to see .
We will other wise keep on seeing individuals being bulldozed by States.
Individuals should be respected by state even if they dissent .
The TADA law or its equally unconstitutional and draconian replacement Prevention of Terrorist Activities law were both home grown Indian laws created by the Indian State within the last 25 years, enforced by Indians and perpetrated at Indians without being inherited from the British Empire.

‘Sacrileges don’t shake faith of People’ – are you really suggesting that we should let sacrilege slide? ‘That in the big scheme of things’ it’s okay for saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji be defiled?! The point you should be making is that the Punjab police should not be torturing anyone FULL STOP no matter the crime they are suspected of (let alone accused, charged or convicted) and that the police like the SGPC should be completely independent of political interference and influence. Your friend Badal is responsible and culpable for torturing yet another Sikh purely and simply in order to make himself look more electable to stay in power to perpetuate political patronage – shameful.

Illegal police brutality is not the only point I am making. As Deep has pointed out sacrilege to Guru Granth Sahib Ji is intolerable to a Sikh because we do not view it as merely an act of sacred scripture defiled (as a Hindu might with pages torn and strewn from Bhagavad Gita) but our living, eternal Guru being bodily attacked. If our Guru was a human being sitting inside the Gurdwara and men came in to tear off his clothes and flesh can you imagine Sikhs would do nothing but shake their heads in disquiet? Sri Guru Granth Sahib is our eleventh and final Guru – not just some holy book – and to us is as precious, real and revered as any of the ten human Gurus preceding. As for the barbs I keep throwing at you I only do so when you make antithetical statements or misrepresent historical facts as I am mindful of Hitler’s favourite philosopher Nietzche who stated prophetically (perhaps even inspirationally to the fascist inclined) that ‘if you can make a people believe in an absurdity you can then make them commit an atrocity’. I bear no ill will or animosity towards you personally but rather the views you espouse which are not only against the teachings of Gurmat but also rob Man – a dignified sentient creature NOT a mere slave – of responsibility and culpability for his actions and indeed inactions.
