CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Former Hazoori Ragi of Sri Harmandir Sahib, Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala yesterday kicked off a political war against the SGPC, to try and free it from it’s current political influence. It is notable that Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala was transferred from Sri Harmandir Sahib to Haryana for speaking up against the unconstitutional appointment of a Chief Secretary within the SGPC.
Addressing reporters at the Chandigarh Press Club, Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala announced he is to contest the upcoming SGPC elections under Sikh Sadbhawna Dal. He said that intention of his political party is to make the SGPC corruption free and neutralize political influence on it. ‘Preaching Sikhism would be spearheaded if we succeed in the upcoming SGPC polls’ he added.
Bhai Wadala added that the management of Gurdwara Sahibs needs to be overhauled. He stated that his party would announce an agenda on March 22 (Hola Mohalla) to bring a revised system across all Gurdwaras. He claimed that the current management method of Gurdwaras is about to collapse.
Renowned Panthik leader of Haryana and SGPC member Bhupinder Singh Asandh also announced to support Bhai Wadala’s campaign on this occasion. Bhai Iqbal Singh, Bhai Balwinder Singh and many others were present on this eve.
