Preparations Underway to Celebrate Vaisakhi at Sri Panja Sahib; Jan 24 Deadline for Visas

FEROZEPUR, Punjab—Preparations are underway to celebrate Vaisakhi at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib again this year.  Where the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is taking care of providing accommodations to the international Sikh Sangat, Bhai Mardana Memorial Kirtan Darbar Society is working tirelessly to support visas for sangat from East Punjab.  

The society has appealed the Sikhs from all over India to submit their passports to the society office in Ferozepur till January 24.

Talking with Sikh24’s correspondent, President Harpal Singh Bhullar said that this year Sikh devotees are showing high interest to celebrate Vaisakhi at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib.  He told Sikh24 that efforts are underway and the Chairman of Evacuee Trust Property Board Janab Siddique and President of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee Sham Singh are in contact with the society to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Sikh Sangat to have darshan of historical Gurdwaras

As per information provided by S. Bhullar, Sangat will also be able to visit Baba Farid Ji’s historic place in Pak Patan and Gurdwara Babe Di Ber in Sialkot.

He informed that this year a Jatha of 3000 Sikhs will depart to celebrate Vaisakhi in Gurdwara Panja Sahib and also pay homage at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Dehra Sahib, Gurdwara Sacha Sauda, Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, Gurdwara Rodi Sahib and other 6 Gurdwaras in Lahore during the 10 days long trip.
