A Nagar Kirtan (religious procession) was organized by the Sikh devotees from Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib to Gurdwara Sri Tambu Sahib. The religious procession was organized under patronage of Sri Guru Granth sahib placed in highly decorated bus. Students of various schools, band parties and gatka teams also took part in this religious procession and manifested their skills.

S. Jaswinder Singh from Afghanistan who has attended the parkash celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Nankana Sahib in past has said that this year’s celebrations were extra-ordinary.  “I have been here several times in past, but this year’s celebrations were different.  We saw great excitement within Sikh Sangat,” he told Sikh24.   On being asked about his journey from Afghanistan, Jaswinder Singh said, “It’s actually quite easy for us to access historical Gurdwaras in Pakistan, however I have never had the opportunity to visit our Gurdwaras in India.”

Special arrangements were made by the Pakistan Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and the Evacuee Trust Property Board to accommodate the pilgrims.  Along with paying homage at Sri Nankana Sahib, Sikh Sangat has also paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib, Sacha Sauda and other historical shrines here.
