ONTARIO, Canada—Sunnet Singh Tulli, the President and CEO of DataWind, have reported a surge in revenue due to expanding distribution channels and a relocation of a major assembly line from China to India.
Datawind has collaborated with Telenor Communications to sell its smartphones and tablets via it’s 1,800 retail outlets in India.
They have recentlky also begun developing mobile apps for children to help with education for those who don’t have access to regular teaching facilities. Datawind’s tablets will feature this software.
Suneet Singh added, “We made tremendous progress during the quarter — both improving our margins and managing our expenses, while working to expand our distribution channels in order to meet the strong demand for our Internet-connect mobile devices”.
