Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara Appears in Court via Video Conference

LUDHIANA, Punjab—Akal Takht Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara (appointed by Sarbat Khalsa 2015) appeared before two courts of Ludhiana yesterday, in relation to three cases that predate to 1995.

On the eve of the 546th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Jathedar Hawara has extended his greetings to the Sikh masses and has appealed for them to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Sahib.

Jathedar Hawara’s lawyer Jaspal Singh Manjhpur informed that first FIR No. 103/95 was registered in Police Station No.1 of Ludhiana during 1995 which is under trial in the Ditsrict and Session Court of Magistrate Harpreet Kaur Nafra. Jathedar Hawara is indicted under sections 307/427 of Indian Penal Code and sections 3/4/5 of Arms act. Court has deferred the next hearing of the case to December 7.

The second case (FIR No. 134/95) also dates back to 1995, hearing of which was deferred to December 3 by Additional Session Judge Dinesh Kumar. The case refers to the recovery of weapons.

The third case is also about the recovery of weapons, for which he is under trial in the court of Magistrate Harpreet Kaur Nafra. Hearing of the case has been postponed until December 7.
