Court Denies Police Remand Increase Request for Sarbat Khalsa Organisers

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Organizers of Sarbat Khalsa Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, Bhai Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala and Bhai Satnam Singh Manava were yesterday produced in the Amritsar Court by the district police after two days police remand. The police demanded police another remand of the trio for more ten days asserting that they have to extract Bhai Narain Singh Chaura’s letter and their passports.

But the Defence lawyer Advocate Gurpreet Singh lashed out at the Police and asked why they hadn’t extracted anything in the last two days of police remand. He explained that ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ was a peaceful religious congregation of Sikhs which is being misinterpreted by police under political pressure. He asserted that framing the trio under sedition charges was wrongful and the police did it under pressure of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal.

Agreeing with Defence lawyer’s arguments, Magistrate Harsimranjit Kaur denied sanctioning more police remand of Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, Bhai Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala and Bhai Satnam Singh Manava and sent them on judicial remand till December 2. Next hearing of the case is scheduled on December 2.

Meanwhile, the head of Kotwali police station succeeded in getting one day police remand of Bhai Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala and Bhai Satnam Singh Manawa in a case filed by SGPC for creating disturbance in Sri Darbar Sahib on ‘Bandi Chhor’.

  1. ISI of Pakistan and failed Indian leadership

“ISI of Pakistan and failed Indian leadership”. Aaj Tak news channel reported that Indian govt submitted a dossier to British govt. regarding ISI activities in British Gurudwaras against Indian state during Mr Modi’s visit to England .Similar dossier was given by the then PM of India Dr Manmohan Singh to his Canadian counter part Mr Steven Harper during Dr Singh’s visit to Canada . Same charges were leveled against Canadian Sikhs in that dossier . Canadian PM had responded to that dossier on Indian soil during his visit to India by saying that Canadian laws allow freedom of speech and Canadian Sikhs are not doing any unlawful activities in Gurudwaras . He said Sikhs in Canada are the most law abiding citizens. Similar statement has come from London police chief that there is no information with them regarding any lawful activities in British Gurudwaras . After severe rebuttal from these two countries to the dossier submitted by Indian govts , India should understand the difference between the working of its govt and the workings of govts of free world. Free world govts work under law but Indian govt use law to their advantage. In stead of admitting their failure to provide very basic human rights like free speech to their citizens , Indian leaders use their rivalry with Pakistan as an excuse for any unrest in India. At least it did not help India in Punjab in last 35 years to convince Sikhs that ISI is interfering in their affairs but they know that in stead Indian govt is denying them their basic constitutional rights of peaceful protests and agitations for their rightful struggles . Propaganda is again same by Indian state to defame current Sikh struggle in Punjab to liberate their Sikh institutions from corrupt political use and blaming ISI for it is a conspiracy to commit another genocide of Sikh youth in Punjab . There is no militancy or armed struggle but false propaganda about ISI is to defame Sikhs living in Punjab as well as overseas as terrorists is a big big conspiracy of Indian Govt. Sikhs can foresee what is in Indian govt’s mind because we are victims of the same propaganda in 80s and 90s. But Sikhs will continue peaceful protests as the only way to expose Indian conspiracy . Any untoward incident will be blamed on Indian agencies because Sikhs reject terrorism in strongest words.
