Sikh Sangat Performs Ardas at Akal Takht Sahib Seeking Wisdom for Appointed Jathedars

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Sikh sangat from the village Rode (native village of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale) prayed at Sri Akal Takht Sahib seeking “wisdom” for the appointment Jathedars.  The Sangat then handed over a memorandum signed by Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode to Akal Takht Jathedar to reconsider the decision of exonerating Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

“We, the the Sikh sangat of Rode, demand reinstatement of sovereignty of Sri Akal Takht Sahib by cancelling the pardon granted to Gurmeet Ram Rahim,” said members of the sangat.  Sangat members expressed great disgust over the pardon granted to the anti-Sikh cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim earlier this year.

A number of noted Sikh personalities, including Baba Baldev Singh Yogewala, Bhai Balwinder Singh Bawa, Giani Avtar Singh Gholian, Jathedar Jagroop Singh Khalsa, Bhai Avtar Singh Khosa, Sarpanch Harjit Singh Rode, Sarpanch Darshan Singh Nathuwala, Sarpanch Baljit Singh Manawan, Sarpanch Gurtej Singh Bhaloor, Bhai Jaswinder Singh Khalsa, Jathedar Jaskaran Singh Udoke were present when the memorandum was handed over.
