ANANDPUR SAHIB, Punjab—Nihang Bhai Joga Singh, who attacked Giani Mall Singh at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, has been arrested by Punjab police along with his father from his home. It is notable that Nihang Bhai Joga Singh had attacked Giani Mall Singh to express the outrage among Sikh masses after pardoning of Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
Reliable sources have informed that he has been targeted following dauntless stand in favor of his action. Nihang Bhai Joga Singh was being interviewed and honored, by various Panthik bodies. Yesterday, he went to village Gadli (Amritsar) to attend 23rd martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda and Shaheed Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sukha.
He was recently honoured by Sikh Youth Front’s leaders Dr. Sharanjit Singh Rataul(President, SYF) and Bhai Papalpreet Singh (General Secretary, SYF) with Siropao. Gurmat Parchar Sewa Lehar’s Chief Bhai Surinder Singh Thikriwala had also honoured him.
Talking with ‘Sikh24’, Bhai Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala (General Secretary, Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar) informed that family of Nihang Joga Singh let him talk over phone with the Police team that arrested Bhai Joga Singh. “I urged them to clarify that in which case Nihang Bhai Joga Singh is being arrested, but they didn’t” he added. He also informed that Simranjit Singh Mann has been informed about the arrest.
The Akal Takth has given a decision which is not to his liking .So he can at the most put a plac card or twitter or write at this site or meet his local Akali Leader to express his dissent.
He is not allowed to assault any one under Indian Laws .All Indian Sikhs respect the Akal Takth and the Indian State and its Laws .
So any one breaking the divine laws of Akal Takth or the National Laws of India will face the law of Land.
As for Udham and Bhagat Singh they were rebels against the British Empire and not Indian Police. The paradox today is that many of Sikhs love to migrate to Britain.
As for Sukha Jinda they are not the whole story of 84 .1984 was a rebellion by the Sikhs against the Indian state which was designed by the Britishers .So the Indian state and the British Empire jointly put it down.
The decision of Akal Takhat can only be accepted if it is given by those who are selected by the Panth and the decision is in accordance to Gurmat. A criminal cannot be pardoned without appearing before the justice system and receiving due punishment. You are highly mistaken to believe that laws of Akal Takhat are divine. Akal Takhat does not have its own laws. Gurbani is divine and the decisions are taken by the Sikhs collectively which if taken based on Gurbani are considered to be approved by the Guru.
Udham Singh and Bhagat Singh were against the British Empire not because of the British but because of the Empire’s oppressive policies. Similarly, Sikhs are against the Indian government for oppressive and unjust policies against the Sikhs.
1984 was a brutal mass killing operation perpetrated by the Indian government on the Sikh people in order to suppress them into submission and reduce them to the status of slaves of the majority. Not a single demand up till that point involved a separate nation. Your ignorance is appalling yet not surprising considering how every “proud Indian” accepts nothing but the false propaganda of the government controlled media.

Civilized society?? Where is it? is it India? Where is the law n order in India? Your comments implies that every Sikh that raises concern against the wrong doing of someone should arrested by Indian Police? We’ve have long list of such Sikhs..Udham Singh, Bhagat Singh, Sukha -Jinda, Jarnail Singh (remember he hurled his shoe on Finance minister) – it’s a long ending list.. Were they lawless or uncivilized? What’s your way of protest ….is it keeping silient?
Okay so why was his father arrested? And why is police harrasing his other family members? Just because they are poor, that means police has right to make their lives hell?
Your so called police contaminated “civilised” society is very corrupt, throw some money on their desk and they will even let “other” people (family members of the victim, in this case the victim’s SON) assault the accused person. This has happened before too, this is nothing new. People in power, assume that they are the GOD.
