Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa Discharged from PGIMER

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Bapu Surat Singh Ji Khalsa has been discharged just now by the PGIMER Administration following court orders by the High Court.  Bapu Surat Singh was admitted in PGIMER about two weeks ago and kept at the Advanced Cardiac Department forcibly.  He has been on a hunger protest since January 16 for the release of political Sikh prisoners.

Talking with Sikh24’s correspondent, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s son Bhai Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi informed that Bapu Ji’s release came as a surprise to him when a Jagraon police officer came to PGI and questioned him whether his father has been discharged yet or not.

He added that the Police officer came to PGIMER to complete some administration tasks about Bapu Ji’s discharge.

On being asked about whether the police are shifting him to Hassanpur or another Hospital in Ludhiana, Bhai Gogi replied that till now the officials have told him that Bapu Ji will be dropped off at Hassanpur at his house. Bhai Gogi also informed that he had a chance to meet with Bapu Ji and he said that Bapu Ji is still firm about his goals.

Till writing of this news, Bhai Gogi was driving and was following the ambulance carrying Bapu Ji. It is notable that Bapu Ji has been force fed fourth time since his hunger protest.
