PATIALA, Punjab—Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara appeared in the Court of Session Judge Arun Gupta in relation to the murder case of Rulda Singh (Rashtria Sikh Sangat President, Punjab) via video conference. Bhai Ramandeep Singh Goldy was also presented in the Court under strong security measures.
Defense lawyer Advocate Barjinder Singh Sodhi informed Sikh24 that the court deferred next hearing to November 2.
It is notable that Rulda Singh was shot dead outside his residence on July 29 in 2009 by unknown assailants. He was rushed to a Hospital in Patiala from where he was transferred to PGIMER in Chandigarh. Rulda Singh passed away on August 15, 2009.
Punjab police had arrested numerous Sikh youth in this case. Many were later acquitted by the court. The primary accused Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara and Bhai Ramandeep Singh Goldy were arrested a year ago from Thailand and Malaysia respectively. They are undergoing trial in the murder case.
