Summoning Sri Guru Granth Sahib: Petitioner withdraw the case from Court

2014-10-07-guru_granth_sahib_4PATIALA, Punjab—Petitioner Gurnaib Singh has reportedly withdrawn the case against Gurdwara Sahib in a dispute over a piece of land. It is notable that earlier the petitioner had astray the court by explaining Sri Guru Granth Sahib as plaintiff in the petition. The court had issued summon to Gurdwara Sahib via Sri Guru Granth Sahib that outraged the Sikh masses.

Commenting on the move by petitioner, Bhai Papalpreet Singh (General Secretary, Sikh Youth Front) has said that the step of withdrawing case by the petitioner Gurnaib Singh is appreciable but it needs to be probed carefully whether he filed petition innocently or some another power worked behind it to instigate Sikh sentiments.

The case was about a piece of land purchased and donated by Baldev Singh to Gurdwara Sahib for the extension of premises. As the land was under possession of Gurnaib Singh and he had been tilling the land from years, so he moved petition against Gurdwara Sahib against the development. District Court of Patiala had summoned Sri Guru Granth Sahib in the case. Civil Judge (Junior Division) Ramandeep Neetu had to face flak of Sikh masses following the issue of notice to Gurdwara Sahib through Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
