Teja Singh Samundry hall – The head quarters of SGPC

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Courting another controversy, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has restricted journalists to enter its premises.

The SGPC’s authorities have displayed a notice wherein they ordered that no media person may enter the Teja Singh Samundri Hall, head office of the SGPC, without invitation.

“If any media person wants to enter the premises, he will have to meet additional secretary Diljit Singh Bedi first. In this case also, it will be mandatory for him to register his name at the gate”, it reads.

This notice has caused deep fury among journalist community. It is suspected that the controversial decision has been taken by the newly appointed chief secretary.

Reporters say the SGPC cannot escape from being exposed by restricting media’s entry.
