AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Various Panthik organizations have begun the procedure to file a lawsuit against the SGPC for inventing the post of Chief Secretary and appointing a 72 years old age person on the post under political pressure. A warning notice to rollback changes within 60 days was delivered to SGPC authorities by SGPC member Kulbir Singh Barapind and Panthik leader Baldev Singh Sirsa.

Talking with Sikh24, Baldev Singh Sirsa informed that the constitution of SGPC doesn’t allow appointing any employee of age more than 58 with exception of maximum four year relaxation in rarest of rare cases. He referred to resolution 283 of 26-2-2009 and 344 of 25-4-2010 in this concern. Reiterating his firmness to challenge the issue in the court, he maintained that appointing a 72 years old employee is not acceptable, especially at such high salary.

Confirming the development, SGPC member Kulbir Singh Barapind said that legally intimating SGPC via notice was necessary to put the case forth in court.  He blamed the Gurdwara Judicial Commission of acting under political influence.
