Bhai Hawara Wants Portrait of Bhai Dilawar Singh Installed at Central Sikh Museum

NEW DELHI—Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara has appealed to the Akal Takht Sahib appointed Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to install a portrait of Shaheed Bhai Dilawar Singh Babbar at the Central Sikh Museum of Sri Harmandir Sahib. Paying tribute to the martyrdom of Bhai Dilawar Singh Singh, Bhai Hawara said that the Sikh Nation cannot repay for the sacrifice made by him to bring an end to a brutal and murderous regime in Punjab that led to deaths of thousands of Sikh youth.

Bhai Hawara shared this statement with Sikh24 during his court appearance here in relation to FIR No.229/05 registered against him in the police station of Alipur under section 120B, 121 and 307 of Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr.P.C). The Judge is currently recording witnesses of prosecution in this case. A sub-Inspector today appeared in court and witnessed against Bhai Hawara for half an hour.

A large gathering of Bhai Hawara’s supporters was noticeable on this occasion outside the court house. Bhai Hawara was scuffled in chains but still a gesture of fear was noticeable on the faces of security personnel deployed around him.
