Protest Staged Against the SGPC for Hiring Banker as Chief Secretary

ANANDPUR SAHIB, Punjab—Led by Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala, hazoori ragi of Sri Darbar Sahib, several activists of the Sikh Sadbhawana Dal today staged demonstration against appointment of chief secretary by the SGPC.

It is worth mentioning that Harcharan Singh was appointed as chief secretary of the apex Sikh body despite stiff opposition by Sikh bodies.

During the demonstration, Sikh activists were seen carrying banners to express their anger over the appointment of Harcharan Singh who will be paid Rs 3 lakh on monthly basis.

Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala who himself is an employee of the SGPC, said that this is an example of ugly face of political interference into the affairs of the religious body.
