Prominent Akali MLA Revolts Against Badals

AMRITSAR SAHIB—MLA and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Inderbir Singh Bolaria of South Amritsar constituency has raised banner of revolt against his own leadership.  Bolaria is opposing the Solid Waste Management plant to be installed at Bhagtanwala garbage dump.  Revolting against the Akalis, he said that Akali Dal leadership didn’t take him into confidence while taking decision for the installation of this plant.  Bolaria announced to strike against the Government if the latter doesn’t stop construction of the plant in Bhagtanwala garbage dump.

It is notable that Bolaria has some bitter relations with the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal and Bikramjit Majithia. Near about 60 supporters of Bolaria echoed slogan against the government while stopping Akali Dal’s local President of Amritsar Upkar Sandhu while he was about to kick off the construction work.

Bolaria said that installation of Solid Waste Management Plant will put hazardous effects on the atmosphere.  He demanded to change the location of garbage dump from Bhagtanwala to somewhere else.

It may be recalled that in 2010 Navjot Sidhu had put forth a plan of installing Solid Waste Management at Bhagtanwala, but nobody took notice of his plan. Recently 10 days ago, Sukhbir Badal had visited the garbage dump and had ordered for immediate installation besides constructing an 11 metre tall wall to cover the garbage dump.

Recently, rebellion by MP Navjot K Sidhu had created tensions for the Akali-BJP ally government. Now, the revolt by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Inderbir Bolaria has added one more chapter in the headache of Akali leadership. Due to internal clash between the local Akali leadership, Bolaria was on target of  Upkar Singh Sandhu.
