AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Saturday announced their intentions to reward Sikh girl Manbir Kaur who secured the top position in her examination, with a cash prize of Rs 51,000.

The Sikh girl has topped the country, securing 1035 marks out of 1100. In a statement, the SGPC lauded Manbir Kaur for bringing pride to the Sikh community in Pakistan.

The SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar said that these brilliant students could do extraordinary in their lives if the government provided financial help to them. He urged the Pakistan government to bear expenses on the further study of Manbir Kaur.

He said that it was a matter of honour that the girl is the daughter of Giani Prem Singh, head Granthi of Gurdwara Sri Nanakana Sahib.
