Bapu Surat Singh to Ravneet Bittu: No Chance of Ending Hunger Strike Until Release of Political Prisoners

11830136_901932199874072_1679861740_nAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Following the unsuccessful attempt by MP Ravneet Bittu (grandson of former Chief Minister Beant Singh) to meet Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital on August 1, hoaxes against Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa have stormed the Panthik circles. It is notable that Ravneet Bittu sought a meeting with Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa to urge him to end his hunger strike, but the administration didn’t allow him to meet Bapu Ji.  The police deployed there had to close the doors of the Emergency Ward of DMC for an hour.

Replying to Ravneet Bittu’s urge, Surat Singh Khalsa has clarified that there is no chance of him ending the hunger strike until the political Sikh prisoners are released.

Immediately after Bittu’s unsuccessful attempt to meet Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, suspicious elements in Sikh circles started hoaxing against Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa via unidentified telephonic calls. Sources who received such calls informed Sikh24’s correspondent that the hoaxers were planting intolerable blames against Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa.

After forcefully admitting Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa  to hospital on July 23, the government is eager to deteriorate the movement for the release of political Sikh prisoners. A number of supporting activists of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa have been detained in jails levelling false charges of 107/151 to build pressure on them to give up. Similarly, rumours of the death of Surat Singh Khalsa were planted by the government on social media some days ago.
