Babbu Mann reaches DMC Hospital to extend support to Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa

LUDHIANA, Punjab—Renowned singer and actor Babbu Mann reached today reached the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana to express solidarity with Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. The Punjab police personnel deployed there however did not allow him to meet Bapu Khalsa and stopped him near the entrance of ward.  Despite numerous requests, Police personnel expressed helplessness in the matter.15920_851840818242264_3820563502889558266_n

Babbu Mann then met Bhai Ravinderjit Singh Gogi (son of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa) and Bibi Sarvarinder Kaur (daughter of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa) to extend his support to the struggle initiated by Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. Babbu Mann expressed solidarity with the cause.

11215518_851840868242259_321825770814504444_nBibi Sarvarinder Kaur told Sikh24 correspondent that Babbu Mann was very supportive of Bapu Ji’s struggle.  “He would raise awareness of the cause and help spread the message of Bapu Ji to the masses,” she said.

It is notable that Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has been on hunger strike since January 16 seeking release of political Sikh prisoners who have served mandatory terms of their life sentences. Bapu Ji, his family and his supporters have had to face brutalities of the Punjab police and the Government numerous times. A number of active supporters of Bapu Surat Singh are currently detained in Jails under false charges of 107/151 of Cr.P.C. (Code of Criminal Procedure).
