Bhai Harminder Singh gets Bail in Case of Carrying Explosive Material

LUDHIANA, Punjab—Court of additional session judge Karunesh Kumar today granted bail to Sikh youth Bhai Harminder Singh who is serving imprisonment in maximum security jail of Nabha in case of carrying blast material. Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur appeared before the court as his legal counsel.

It is worth mentioning that the case was registered against Bhai Harminder Singh on June 29, 2006 under section 3, 4 and 5 of Explosives Act, 121, 121A, 123, 153, 153A, 120B of IPS and section 18 of Unlawful Activities (prevention) Act in Raikot Police station.

Advocate Manjhpur said that as many as 8 Sikh youths were charged in this case. The court pronounced imprisonment for three and acquitted two. Bhai Harminder Singh was arrested in this case on August 25, 2010. Remaining two are still at large.  

He said that nothing was seized from Bhai Harminder Singh who has been acquitted in seven other cases including that of Shingar Cinema Bomb Blast. Only single case is pending against him. The court may announce its decision in this case during the month of August.
