In a statement, he said that those Sikh prisoners who have completed their imprisonment terms, should be released without any discrimination. He said that keeping those convicts who have completed their terms behind bars, is violation of human rights.

“In this direction, centre and state governments should take concrete steps with the immediate effect”, he added.

It is worth mentioning that the BSP is major political party founded by Babu Kanshi Ram, in India who has ruled over Utter Pardesh. In 1989 Indian parliamentary elections, it was alliance partner of Akali Dal (United) led by Simranjit Singh Mann. Of 13 seats, 10 were won by this alliance. This party represents so-called “lower casts”.
