“Punjabi Language Concerns and Possibilities” Conference to Take Place in Fatehgarh Sahib

—Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) office bearers assembled at the Punjabi University Patiala on Saturday to chalk out the plan for organizing World Punjabi Conference which is slated for October 24, 25 at Baba Banda Singh Bahadar Engineering College Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.

After the meeting, the SGPC additional secretary Diljit Singh Bedi said that ‘Maa Boli Punjabi: Sarokar te Sambhawanawan’ (Punjabi Language Concerns and Possibilities) would be the theme of the conference. He said that the conference would contain six different sessions.

“In order to ensure smooth arrangements of the conference, two sub-committees have been constituted. One is the organizing committing and other is academic. In first one, Guru Granth Sahib world University V-C Dr. Gurmohan Singh Walia, additional secretary Balwinder Singh Jaurasingha, Dr. Parmjit Singh, Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Dr. GS Lamba and Amarjit Singh Manager have been included. This committee will look after arrangements of stay of intellectuals and Langar”, he told.

In academic committee, he said, Punjabi University V-C Dr. Jaspal Singh, Ajit’s editor-in-chief Dr. Barjinder Singh Hamdard, SGPC secretary Dr. Roop Singh, Dr. Joga Singh, Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh, Dr. Balwant Singh Dhillon, Dr. Parmjit Singh Sidhu, Dr. Jagbir Singh and Dr. Anurag Singh have been included.
