DERBY, UK— A close friend of a Derby man who has died as a result of a hit and run said he has seen CCTV which shows three people who failed to stop and help.

Satnam Singh was struck outside the Sikh Temple in Coronation Street, Pear Tree, on Thursday as he was making his way there. The 74-year-old later died.

His friend, Gurpal Singh, said he has seen CCTV footage from the temple, which he also attends. He said his friend was holding a donation in his hand as he was going to open the temple when he was hit by the car.

He said: “The CCTV shows somebody on a push bike stopping and looking towards where he was and then he goes away without calling for an ambulance.

“Then in the footage a car comes and stops, looks right and then it goes away. Again, without raising the alarm.

“And then finally a pedestrian comes by, stops there and looks for five seconds and then he walks away. If these people had called for an ambulance then he might still be here which is really upsetting.

“I feel like he was let down and I wished some of these people called the ambulance and then he still might be alive. But there’s also someone out there who has done this and they need to be brought to justice.”

Anybody with information should call police on 101.
