BREAKING: Terror Attacks Shake Gurdaspur

GURDASPUR, Punjab— In a terror attack, gunmen wearing army uniforms have gone on a rampage in Gurdaspur.  The attack left six people dead, including Punjab’s Superintendent of Police (Detective) Baljit Singh.

The attack took place in Dinanagar, a town located close to the border of Jammu and Kashmir state, located about 235 kms from Chandigarh.

Dinanagar bus stand and the police station were attacked by the assailants.  No hostages were taken, nor has any organization taken responsibility for the attack. However, officials have announced that they believe the  attackers are from the disputed area of Kashmir.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has tweeted that the style of attack was similar those that have occurred the troubled areas of Kashmir.

High numbers of army forces have been sent into Punjab as reinforcements but the situation is said to be under control.
