AMRITSAR SAHIB—Miri Piri Diwas of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji was celebrated at Sri Akal Takht Sahib yesterday on a large scale. SGPC had organized a special program to mark the day.
Following the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Hazoori Ragi of Sri Harmandir Sahib Bhai Satnam Singh delighted the Sikh sangat with melodious kirtan. Ardas was performed by Bhai Kulwinder Singh Ji and Singh Sahib Giani Amarjit Singh (Granthi, Sri Darbar Sahib) read Hukamnama on this occasion.
Appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh appealed the Sikh masses of countryside and abroad to become Amritdhari. He expressed deep concern over the ongoing drug menace in Punjab and appealed the youth to take Pahul of Amrit by taking inspiration from this day.
