BATHINDA, Punjab—Speaking during the inauguration of the civic amenities projects, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal termed the response received by his delegation in North America as “historic”. It’s not known what Sukhbir Badal meant as historic, as most of the Akali conferences in North America had to be shut down due to protests.
Sukhbir stated that only a few people opposed the Akali leaders, and “others were just out there to create trouble”. He termed such people as “anti-Punjab”.
The civic amenities project aims at providing water supply, sewerage and street light throughout Punjab. He said there were no budgetary issues and by mid-August, these facilities would be provided throughout 150 towns in Punjab.
Sukhbir was asked about hunger strike of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. He quickly stated that the matter of remission was currently pending before the Supreme Court and Punjab Government had no authority to release prisoners.
Sukhbir Badal lives in a bubble.
Too bad for him, that bubble will collapse in 2017.
