LUDHIANA, Punjab—Sikh24 has received news that the situation has turned tense in Hassanpur where Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has been on hunger strike since January 16, 2015. Police and paramilitary forces in large numbers have been deployed throughout the town.
In a statement, Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala appealed to Sikhs living across Punjab to arrive in Ludhiana.
“Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s health is in critical condition, and so is the situation here,” said Bhai Amrik Singh who has been camping at village Hassanpur since two months. Singhs have been standing guard at the gate, however they are in small numbers compared to the forces being deployed by the Punjab Government.
