Sikh sangat observes 28th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Gurdev Singh Debu

JALLANDHAR, Punjab—A large scale program to mark the 28th martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhai Gurdev Singh Debu was held at village Dhirpur.  Following the completion of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Bhai Inderjit Singh of the Akhand Kirtani Jatha delighted the Sikh devotees with melodious kirtan.

Bhai Gurdev Singh Debu was brutally martyred by the Punjab Police by throwing him into boiling water.

Hazoori Ragi of Sri Darbar Sahib Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala also did kirtan and spoke about the sacrifices of Shaheed Bhai Gurdev Singh Debu. Hazoori Ragi Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Nagoke also addressed the Sikh sangat with religious discourse while performing kirtan.

Prof. Mohinderpal Singh Patiala (Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar) urged the Sikh sangat to make efforts to mark martyrdom anniversary of Bhai Debu on international level.

Dal Khalsa, Sikh Youth of Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) and Damdami Taksal honoured the family members of Bhai Debu with Bhai Dyala Ji award.

Bhai Ajit Singh Damdami Taksal, Bhai Gurdeep Singh Kalkat, Giani Harbans Singh Authla, Bhai Paramjit Singh of Sikh Youth Punjab, Bhai Sarabjit Singh Ghuman of Dal Khalsa and other prominent personalities was present on this occasion.
