PATIALA, Punjab—Following severe back pain and numbness in legs, Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana was today brought to the local Rajindra Hospital here for a physical check up. A team of doctors headed by Dr. Amandeep Singh Bakshi performed some tests.
After examining Bhai Rajoana with few medical and radiographic tests for two hours, Dr. Amandeep Singh Bakshi maintained that the problem was not serious. He informed that the pain was due to an operation of fifth lumbar vertebra (L5) of spinal cord few years back that Bhai Rajoana went through. He said that such back pain is common among patients.
The doctors have put Bhai Rajoana on conservative treatment for fifteen days and have asked the jail authorities to bring him back for checkup after a fortnight.
Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana is a convict on death row in case of assassination of former Chief Minister of Punjab Beant “Singh”. Bhai Rajonana was one prime convicts in the assassination case that took place at the Civil Secretariat of Chandigarh.
